I’m wearing an off-white, but had I not already bought my dress I would consider a dress in a different color — namely blue!!

I wanted a red dress so bad, but I don’t want to regret it and this really is the only time I can rock the white. I decided on a white dress with the red crinoline pop!

I went with Champagne with a light gold overlay… I know what you mean about white… my Darling Husband and I lived together 4 years before the wedding so WHITE didn’t seem right. Plus I looked more tan in this color! 😉

@MissMeowMeow:  I love the idea of wearing colors. In fact I’m considering incorporating a colored veil or putting colored flourishes on it. However, this is one of the few times I can rock out a white/ivory formal in life, and with my skin tone I look amazing in it. I did almost get a red dress but realized I could wear a red dress just about any other time I want a dress.

I love different colored wedding dresses! They are so original and beautiful! Have you ever seen the different colors of crinoline some have done under the dress? I have a white dress but plan to have blue and silver underneath. Not a lot of colore but when I twirl and lift it up it will show.

I’m wearing ivory…but to me that is basically the equivalent of white, I just don’t like the starkness of white on me.  I certainly have been no angel either.  But I see no problem with colors if that is what you want!

Meeee meeee I’m planning to wear blue!

But even if that dress falls through… still not wearing white! I’m pretty attached to the colorful dress thing!

I almost wore red.  Ended up going with “alabaster,” which is basically a light champagne ivory.  It looks lighter in the picture than it does in real life.

Married in White, you have chosen right,
Married in Blue, your love will always be true,
Married in Pearl, you will live in a whirl,
Married in Brown, you will live in town,
Married in Red, you will wish yourself dead,
Married in Yellow, ashamed of your fellow,
Married in Green, ashamed to be seen,
Married in Pink, your spirit will sink,
Married in Grey, you will go far away,
Married in Black, you will wish yourself back.

That said, I wanted to marry in blue, but, if I’m going to have a conservative Jewish ceremony, then I should probably wear white, though I’ll likely try to have some blue accents.  White is supposed to be worn, at least from what I read about the Jewish ceremony, because it represents spiritual purity, not physical.  The groom is also supposed to wear white (a kitel over his suit I would imagine) for this purpose.

One of my friends wore a dress with lilac overlay.  It was a gorgeous dress.   I don’t know if I want to wear just a white dress (well maybe champagne or ivory) with a touch of colour or to have a mix of white and colour.

@Chrysoberyl:  It’s by a designer called Angeline – they’re stocked by a lot of stores in Australia, but I’m not sure about overseas
