    Wear whatever you look best in. My skin tone has so much red in it, diamond white actually makes my skin look jaundice. Not a prefered look for your wedding. I’ve gone back & forth between ivory and champagne, but honestly whatever color suits you best is what you should go with. No one will care because you will look beautiful. 🙂

    I’ll be wearing ivory…definitely not white-white, if only for the fact that it’s terribly unflattering and washes me out!

    I don’t have a problem with what wearing white/ivory/cream represents. I feel the love my Fiance and I share is very pure and romantic, and I want to convey that at our wedding. He is also a traditionalist, so I don’t think he would take well to a bride dressed in any other hue!

    I am wearing turquoise. It’s technically a prom dress, but I love it! Sorry for the crappy cell phone picture!

    I was starting to think I was the only one! Here’s mine, it’s an evening gown. I didn’t even go to a bridal shop!

    i’m wearing a champagne dress with a ivory lace overlay. i wasn’t completely opposed to white, but my colored dress looks much better with my pale skin and looked better with our wedding colors.

    @joyfulgirl9682:  I LOVE that – stunning!

    I am going alabaster with a few touches of black. White makes me look ill.

    This was the original dress I chose:

    In the end, it was MUCH darker than it looks here and I couldn’t go through with it!! I got a white one, but I still like the style and look of the above dress more than the one I have now :/

    When you think about it too, white is SO UNFLATTERING. I never, ever wear white in my everyday life. Ugly! But for a wedding dress… ugh, I am a victim of tradition it turns out.

    @SherbetFountain:  Gorgeous!

    I’m considering lilac, gold or champagne. I don’t look good in white either. But there’s a part of me that’s thinking, hey, this only happens once. I only get to wear a white dress once. So still pretty torn.

    I was very, very close to going with blush, but then I found an amazing deal on my dress, which is off-white almost to the point of champagne. I think blush is so flattering on so many people.

    I would definitely consider blush, champagne etc but bright white looks best on my skin colour.  It’s not a purity thing, it’s 100% vanity 🙂

    Although I married — for the first time — in my mid-40s, I actually chose to wear a big, white dress (technically my dress was diamond white, which is a light ivory color) as well as a veil and blusher, because, to me, all of these things represented both tradition and purity, both of which were very important to me.

    I was considering it before I actually met Dear Fiance. He’s pretty traditional.  Early on, once I figured it wasn’t something he’d be cool with, I’ve gotten used to the idea of a white wedding dress. Although actually I might do ivory b/c of my skin tone.

    I’m going back and forth on whether or not to do a colored dress.  I was thinking if I did, it would be either TARDIS blue (nerd in me coming out…haha!) or bright yellow.
