I’m wearing ivory, which I do not think is the same as wearing a color (like red, purple, etc), but I’m all for people wearing whatever they’re comfortable in. Personally, I loooove this dress. It looks like an 80s prom dress, but in a good way:

Such beautiful dresses!  I wore white in my wedding, despite family protests Tongue Out.  In the end, the haters no-showed and I had a lovely ceremony.  Wear whatever color you want – you will look gorgeous.

@MrsBrown13:  Thank ya thank ya!  I actually went through a lot to try on this dress, and technically still haven’t tried it on…but I got into a dress that’s similar in shape and my consultant added straps and a corset string around my hips so that I could get the picture and I immediately started crying.  I knew I was destined to have that moment, and I didn’t give up! (this is a big deal for me because I’m a plus size bride and I couldn’t find dresses anywhere that would fit me =( until I went to that last shop, haha!!)

@HeathenSwan:  Ditto this, mid 30’s and doing ivory and it’s my second wedding.  Ivory looks better with my skin tone than white.

I’m sticking close to white… but I’m in love with silver over gold lace dresses.  Everyone in my family wears a lace dress and my Nana wore navy blue lace over blush.

Also, I’m super fair, with blonde hair and green eyes, white does not flatter me.  I rarely wear it near my face.

**ETA: No one here would think twice if I did wear white.  The whole purity thing is just not a ‘thing’ here.

I didnt want to wear white. I wanted dark orange but couldnt find anything so I was about to settle for a cream/beige dress but I saw it in black & ivory and fell in love bc of a joke email from my mom. wear what you want!

I’m wearing a cream dress. White with my complexion makes me look like Casper.
