I would wait until after the appointment but that’s just me, having miscarriage in my past I get so paranoid and I’m the type of person who doesn’t want to talk about it so I dont like telling unless I know it’s good.

We told our parents (but no other family) when we found out at 5 weeks so they could understand that we’re under a bit of stress at then moment with a lot of questions swirling still waiting to get results on basic viability, finding an obstetrician, etc and might need the support/understanding. I don’t plan to share further until well into the second trimester, but I think helpful for parents to know early on if they are supportive and don’t get overly excited.

We told my parents at 4ish weeks because we live less than 2 miles away. We also grab drinks with them once a week or so and it would’ve been impossible to keep it secret up until the 12 week mark. We told his family when they came to visit around 9 weeks, but asked both sets to not tell anyone until after we’d seen a heartbeat and preliminary genetic testing came back.

Now 13+2 and will tell work next week, but won’t go public to everyone until our anatomy scan next month.

We told our parents within a few days of finding out, and we’re really glad to have their support when we had a miscarriage scare à few weeks later. We told our siblings and my boss around week 7. We’ve been slowly telling close friends and will come out fully in a few weeks, after our NIPT testing at 12w. It sounds like we’re pretty blabby, compared to you ladies!
