You should never mix pain killers with alcohol. Ever.

Bad, bad things. One should NEVER EVER do that. The effects are compounded by each other and can cause heart damage, and has a high potential of being lethal, they have been lucky so far but that is not a way one should tempt fate.

It cut out half my post :/ Liver failure, heart failure, heart attack, respiratory distress, fatal over dose due both being metabolized by the liver. These are just a few things that could happen. Is the high really worth all that for your friend?

Yes it is very dangerous.  In addition to all of those things listed above, both are “Depressants” and enhance the effects of the other, which is probably why your friend does it.  Also, both are addictive so eventually, your friend will need more to get the same effect.

Blah blah…and you can also get hit by a bus any day of the week. Lortab + booze = awesome. Don’t worry about it. As long as your friend isn’t driving around or watching children, I think she/he is okay.

@lauramich: I really, REALLY hope your are joking. There is no way shape or fashion that taking pain killers and alcohol at the same time is a good idea nor is it funny.
