My friend tricked us all when it came to her wedding start time…..

Her family is notorious for being late so she put on the wedding invite “Start time: 12:30pm”….. Actually start time was 1pm but she wanted her family to be on time.  The wedding started at exactly 1pm because everyone was there on time.

Maybe have your start time listed as 15-30 min earlier than the actual time but don’t let people know?

My wedding is @ 5:30pm on a Friday night – not convinent for everyone, I understand and I don’t expect a lot of people to attend the ceremony (even though the reception is immediately following at the same site).  I plan on putting on the invites that it starts @ 5:15pm – only because where I am having mine there is a lot of rush hour traffic coming off the highway.

It is trickly because at my friends wedding a LOT of people actually showed up @ 12:15-12:30 and the church was locked!!  And the church wasn’t even decorated – so it kinda backfired in that way….

Maybe put something to the effect of “Doors open @ 1:45pm”…..kind of sounds like a restaurant opeing but you get what I mean!  hahaha

OR   Ceremony begins at 1:45pm…..Bride debuts promptly at 2pm…..

I think if you write down “Ceremony at….”  and “Bride proceeds at….”  They should take the hint and the note may not be necessary – most people shold know enough that it is rude to be late and ruin your entrance!
