I am planning my wedding to be a color theme of hot pink and black, however I love the movie/book “The Notebook” and am trying to incorporate some detail from the movie in my wedding as well. I now am on the hunt for wedding invitations, I’m fine with DIY as my budget doesnt allow me to spend a small fortune on stationary. I have this great idea that somehow I can make my wedding invites look like little notebooks, but I cant find anything online except for a composition looking notebook invite I found on etsy which I can not even consider at $10 an invitation. Any ideas on how I can make a hot pink and black invitation that resembles a notebook? Thank you!

I love this idea. How about getting white cardstock and having a graphic designer design a notebook sheet of paper in photoshop that you can print on card stock cut and round the corners. That way you ahve the look of a notebook but on high-quality paper. Then get the silver thick floral wire and thread that through the right side in a spiral. (hole punch the card stock to give it the notebook look)
Have all your inserts be incorparted into the book. page 1- invite page 2- accom. card page 3- map page 4-“easy rip rsvp card” (like the neat sheet note books –however I am unsure where you will find cardstock with easy rip..sorry

@superplannerbee:You’d have to delivery these in a small box not envelopes.

If you go to google there are some notebook paper templates. If you print it on ivory cardstock it’ll look a little older and then you can print the invitation over it. I really like @superplannerbee:‘s idea about making it like a book. I think Staples or Office Max may be able to make the prefort things so you can rip the RSVP cards. I seem to remember my mom doing this once at one of these places. Maybe it was Kinkos though…

@betho: I’ve seen those ones on etsy and lusted over them. They’re beautiful. You could always try another, cheaper designer and see if they could make you something similar for less.

Invites are surprisingly easy to make yourself if you find the right template 🙂 I made my own and printed them off vista print and they look wonderful. If you want any help PM me and let me know. I love playing around with photoshop and I wouldn’t mind throwing together a few looks for you 🙂

i love this idea! and i love the movie so ill try and come up with some ideas for you! BUT i had to show you this!! i went to take my bridal portraits in charleston at the Boone Hall Plantation (they have some beautiful scenery) so i had to have her take one by with the house in the background. it’s Allie’s Family’s “Summer Home” in the movie. The one below it is the driveway to the house which was used in forest gump!
