Ok so it’s now August and I have nothing done yet. No dress, no outfit for Fiance, no caterer, we have the venue now (thank God!) but nothing else. I wasn’t stressing too hard about it until today because I was trying to figure out a day to go dress shopping with my mom and we can’t find a date that works for both of us. UGH.

I got engaged in February and married in June of the same year. It can be done.

its important you get a dress asap unless you plan on going somewhere that you can take home a dress that day than your fine but if its something that needs to be ordered you really need to go like yesterday. My dress took 10 months to come in.
Caterer needs to be boomed asap as well. There are only so many weekends in a year.

Don’t panic. Although you clearly have a lot to do, now is the time to get organized.
I would say caterer and dress are your two priorities. Use the checklists that many sites have and work through your to-do’s. Good luck!

Write out a list of everything you need to get done. Set yourself a realistic timeline and stick to it. Get help from friends and family if need be. It can be done but you need to be on it, no procrastinating

Regarding the dress. Consider a dress from a place like Dillards.com where you can get it within a week of your order. I absolutely *loved* my Dillards dress, buying it was a breeze (I bought it sitting on the sofa in my jammies), and they accept returns if you dont like it or the sizing is wrong.
Here was my wedding dress. They have a bunch of others as well

I agree with PPs–caterer and dress, pronto! Plus officiant–you can’t be married without one!
How many people are you planning to invite and what type of event would you like? The Bees are very helpful. You can do this!

Your dress is gorgeous!
There’s time but have a plan. Figure out a budget, think about how many people you would like to invite, book caterer and find a dress. I agree with PPs; it can be done!

I didn’t think to look at Dillards, good suggestion.
It’s a small private ceremony but a reception with 50+ afterwards (we weren’t going to do a reception but my Future Mother-In-Law really wanted one and then my mom chimed in that she wanted one so we caved)

I bought a Vera Want bridesmaid dress in Ivory. Worked for me.

First, start making a checklist of what needs to be done. A checklist is going to be your best friend right now. Begin making a rough draft guest list and edit as needed. Figure out your budget if you haven’t already and get family and friends to help you. Matter of fact, include your Fiance as well. You’ll need all the help you can get. Start looking for a caterer, bartender, photographer, a bakery, and your wedding dress. You should also be getting your invitations out if you haven’t already. Finally, just breathe. Everything is going to be okay 🙂

Right there with you! Until today, we didn’t have a set date to give te venue.
Go get ’em, tiger!
This check list really helps me keep my bearings straight…

This is a great checklist! I also really like the wwedding wire checklist and budget calculator!

Thank ladies. We have a budget set, and I’m pretty sure we have a caterer now so we just need to work on the menu. Any other suggestions like Dillards, etc for a dress?

For dresses- depends on your style. I found gorgous dresses at Macys and Nordstrom. You can buy off rack right away or online and recieve it in a week. I don’t work for this company, I don’t even live in Utah but they were so wonderful to me. I ordered 4 dresses on credit card, kept 1 and returned the rest for a full refund. Just had to pay shipping back. They were great! Recieved everything within a week. Also, the sample sales are 50% off! Also full returns. The dress I kept was only $311 (plus the return shipping on the rest).
You can try davids or sample sales in your area. I haven’t been able to find another good sample sale online .
