Roll Call
EDD: 11/10/2015 (30 weeks today- my app said 70 days to go…wow!)
Team: Blue!
Name (if you want to share): We really like Jacob Joseph (NN Jake or JJ) a lot, we’ll decide officially when he’s here though…might come up with a name we love even more between now and then.
The most exciting moment so far: Ultrasounds have all been pretty cool, but we loved the 3D one, and it was so fun watching baby sucking on his hands and kicking and seeing DH get so excited.
The thing(s) you miss the most: sushi, sleeping like a normal person.
Do you have a nursery theme (feel free to share pics!)? Marvel/DC Superheroes. Vintage-look metal signs for the wall- Hulk, Captain America, and Superman. Pottery Barn Kids Avenger’s Sheets (from the outlet, of course!) Still need some more things to hang on the wall and need to paint the knobs for the dressing-going to try to make them look like Captain America shields!
What symptoms or fears are you having? Back pain 24/7 and just so tired and sore! Nervous about L&D-when will it start, will I be able to do it without meds (for me an epidural is an option, but a last resort), will baby and I do okay, will there be tearing, etc. Also nervous about the breastfeeding/sleeping part. But overall even though I’m nervous about these things, it’s not overwhelming- DH and I will get though it all and L&D will go however it goes!
What projects (baby related or not!) are you working on? Finishing up the nursery, putting away his freezer meals.
The thing you are most looking forward to: Seeing his sweet face and holding him for the first time! Also seeing DH hold him!
What are you reading/learning/taking classes about these days? Been reading a lot about baby sleep, labor and deliver, and breastfeeding. Taking a one day LaMaze class at our birthing hospital in a couple of weeks!
Any news you would like to share: I was surprised to learn at the 30wk appt that I’ll have two or three more ultrasounds (32 wks, 36wks, and 40 wks) to check growth due to a couple high BP’s I had in early pregnancy. OB isn’t concerned, just wants to make sure baby’s still doing as well as he’s been the whole time! Oh well, we get to see baby boy a couple more times!
Also recently discovered that the Ovia Pregnancy app I’ve been using the whole time has a fantastic setting so you can see baby’s size each week as different things (my fave is the “Weird but Cute Animals”- week 30 is a platypus! and they have other ones like French Pastries and Sports)
