I’m dying trying to find a bridesmaid dress that I will like and that my girls will like. Has anyone ever done, or seen, skirts with tops and cardigans? I think it could be really cute – and you could TOTALLY wear it again!
Anyone seen it or done it?

i would at least go with dresses and cardigans…i think separates would end up looking very casual

Hmm, I think it’s definitely something you’re going to have to have them try on and then take a picture. I’m not sure if you have a formal/casual event, but maybe it would work for a garden wedding? It’s definitely going to be very, very casual.

Davids bridal has a section of seperates for bridesmaids and they look quite nice and classy

I think that is a nice idea that you are making sure that your BMs can rewear what they will need to buy for the wedding, but separates are not necessarily more rewearable than dresses–it really depends. For instance, I HATE skirts and I love dresses. I would be more likely to wear a dress again than a skirt although it would of course depend on the actual dress. I have never re-worn any of the 3 Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses I’ve had to buy–although all of my girls will be able to rewear the black cocktail dresses they had for my wedding. And, since I let them all choose, they got to buy something in their own price ranges as well, which is something I definitely would have appreciated more (esp. since I have ended up spending more money on Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses than I ever have for a single item purchase for myself!).
