The majority of our planning is done, and it’s mostly small things that we need to focus on now!

So far we have booked/purchased the following:

  • Ceremony/reception venue
  • Caterer
  • Photographer
  • Videographer
  • Florist
  • DJ
  • Lighting
  • Cake
  • Decor rentals: chairs/linens/chargers
  • Officiant
  • Hair & Makeup Artist
  • Custom Stationer
  • Hotel Room Block
  • My dress and accessories
  • Grooms suit (purchased)
  • Guys suits (rentals decided)
  • My stepdaughter’s dress purchased
  • Favors
  • Valet service

There is a bunch of other little stuff I’ve done as well, but it’s way too much to list out here!

@Coral99: Haha, no worries!  I’ve been planning for awhile now, and I love just getting things done and out of the way.  It’s also been really easy to make decisions on things since I know what I want.  If you’re more indecisive, things can take a bit longer.  You’ve still got 8 months, that’s plenty of time!

Also, yay for Texas bees!! πŸ˜€

We have a bunch of random stuff done. It’s kind of all just getting done randomly because of convienient timing. I’ve got:

-my dress

-my shoes (still need some DIY work to spruce them up)

-BM dresses ordered (should be in next month)

-STDs mailed out

-ring pillow

-cake ordered

-my wedding band

-bought invitations (got a couple of kits from Michael’s so we will still need to print them out before they are ready to go)

-bought tiny little bubble tubes for our send off

We have our photographer, caterer, and DJ picked out but haven’t gotten contracts done yet.

Hello! Another texas gal here.  I feel like we haven’t done much, but we’re also DIY’ing a lot of our wedding, so I feel like we’re just sort of rolling with it as it comes to us and trying to accomplish what we can with the little free time we have.  Our wedding is Nov 2nd and so far we have:

– my dress, garter and veil bought

– a DJ booked

– Venue booked, they provide tables, chairs, linens, food and wine

– Invitation list is looking pretty solid

– We’re proofing design mock-ups of our save the dates (little photos of us in the shape of texas – and we’re going to stick magnets to the back!) and hope to have them completed in the next week so we can get to printing.

Things we plan to accomplish before the month of March is over:

– Groom’s suit picked out and style of suits selected for groomsmen

– Save the dates in the mail

– Shoes for my bridal outfit bought

– Photographer booked (this is seriously becoming the most tedious part)

We’re planning to DIY save the dates, centerpieces and other large flower arrangments like the ones to go in front of the gazebo for the cermony, our 3-tiered cake (going to order a groomscake because there’s no way i could construct what i’m envisioning), rehearsal dinner finger foods (it’s in our back yard), venue lighting (like white string ilghts in the trees, etc), and hopefully our invitations.

Somewhere in the future, beyond march, I will tackle a florist for the bouquets, order our grooms cake, order catering for the main dish of our rehearsal dinner, look into whether or not we should rent a tent or outdoor furniture for the rehearsal dinner, rent chair covers for the reception, buy bridesmaid gifts, etc.

So far we have…

-Venue booked (ceremony and reception)

-Photographer booked

-DJ booked

-My dress ordered

-Bridesmaids dresses picked out

-Officiant.. But it’s a family member

-Save the dates are in

-Invitations are bought

-Guest list is being finalized and we have 90% of their addresses

-photobooth booked

-favors

-we have our table numbers and escort cards

This month I need to work on picking out a florist and baker. I need to call a hotel and block some rooms for out of town guests. Order grooms wedding band.

We are doing a destination wedding on November 13, 2013.

We have the venue ~ Ceremony and Reception

Catering and decor is all done with the venue, so thats taken care of except the fine details

Photographer is booked

Hotel is booked

Out of Town Bags are almost done (but we started shopping early)

Invites went out last month and have a few guests RSVP’d

Dress is purchased πŸ™‚

We are shopping for the bridesmaid dresses tomorrow

The men’s attire is being researched as we speak

We are just thinking about the music right now, which is really important to us.

I found a great deal on the girls jewelry a while ago, so that is all taken care of

Ive purchased all my jewelry also. πŸ™‚

From all the info on these forums, we have decided to do a bit of DIY as well, so we have made my Brooch Bouquet, and some ribbon wands too.

We are just 8 months out, so now the time is going to fly by! I just want to have it all finished so I can sit back and enjoy what we have accomplished so far. I’m not sure what i’m going to do with my time once I’m done though!

I have most things nailed down bc I’m a wedding photographer and I want to be done all of the big stuff before busy season hits!

Here’s what we have left to do:

1) Put down the deposit for decor (linens, chargers, aisle runner etc)

2) Figure out what we are doing for our vows (already have minister booked)

3) Pick out our cake & put down a deposit

4) Figure out our favours

5) Pick out the groom’s tux and groomsmen’s outfits

6) Do a hair & makeup trial

7) Engagemet Photoshoot!

8) Book honeymoon

We just did our tasting last Tuesday and it was amazeballs. I’m so excited πŸ™‚
