@Sah: We have our invitations all designed and printed! Our amazing awesome graphic designer friend did it for us as a wedding present. I still need to line the envelopes and buy gray lace to wrap the invite and RSVP postcard together and glue a little piece of cardstock to the lace with our wedding website on it for directions, etc. Like a belly band, only made of lace.

Anyway, our invites are going out Sept. 24 with an RSVP date of Oct. 22. I was originally going to send out-of-town invites earlier, but I somehow ended up with an RSVP date of Sept. 27, which is nuts. So I need to have our friend re-do those cards so all the dates are the same 🙂

My wedding is Nov 5th and my RSVP date is Oct 5th.  I set it this far back because vendors need final numbers and I’m sure some people are going to have to be chased down.  I don’t think it’s that hard to make a commitment to go to a wedding a month in advance.

I’m sending my invites out around Sept 5th.

Yeah, that should be fine. Everything I’ve read (heh) has said invites should go out 6-8 weeks before, and RSVP date should be 14-7 days before, depending on when your vendors need final head counts (or earlier, if they need them earlier). I keep hearing “never make them RSVP more than a month ahead” … but I don’t know, maybe that’s just made-up etiquette.

I haven’t quite decided when to send them out but I know my RSVP is October 10th. I made it the same day as the deadline to book a room from the hotel block. My invites are almost done. Probably going out in September.

Fiance and I are doing a destination wedding so we’re going to send our invites out earlier than the suggested 6-8 weeks. We want to make sure our guests have enough time to make travel plans if they plan on attending. We are asking about 140 people and guesstimate that about 95 will RSVP ‘yes’.

I’ve ordered and received our invites. We have a reply date of 9-30-11 (wedding date 11-5-11) and we will probably send them out around the late week in June/first week in July.

I am sending invites in August and making the RSVP on October 1st. Our wedding is 11/11/11- a Friday, so I thought I would send them this early for ppl who need to put in leave. I will be making the invites in July 🙂

@dixie1337: Same! Our vendors require early head counts also.

Our R.S.V.P date is August 15th as we are having a destination wedding…Everyone that is invited pretty much knows already because of that but invites went out last night.

My RSVP date is really late compared to the rest. It’s October 31st.

We are doing a formal, plated dinner and the venue requires a head count and meal selection 2 days before the wedding. All of our guests are picky eaters so I have to include a menu so that I don’t get 25 phone calls asking what is served with the chicken. Problem is that our venue’s menu is seasonal and the fall/winter doesn’t come out until September. At the very latest we will send out the invitations on Oct. 1st with the 31st as the RSVP date. Pretty much everyone has already unofficially given me a yes, so I’m not that worried.
