In the words of my fiance as he left for work this morning: “One month until I marry my best friend!”

I am hoping to hear from my DOC today and get a timeline down. It’s been haunting me!

So mine’s a bit different being a Destination Wedding but we actually got legally married last week!  We were going to wait until closer to the wedding, but our TTC efforts proved to be effective a bit sooner than we expected, so we filed the paperwork three weeks early to get the insurance started and everything.  So happy!  The ceremony is in Tuscany, Italy and I’m super unprepared.  I don’t even have my dress in yet, It’s still being made!  My best friend and her buddy were coming as of two weeks ago, but they dropped out unexpectedly so I had to rush to find a new photographer (there’s another unexpected $1000).  Also, my sister is living in Croatia with her boyfriend and she invited her friend to come to the wedding as well.  Now I have her, her boyfriend (that has a long history of not getting along with me and in general being a jerk to my sister), and some random friend I’ve never met all coming.

My other sister, who lives in the Philippines, is flying in to Italy on friday but is going to Florence for the first two days and then meeting us the night before the wedding.  The sister who is driving from Croatia has decided to go to Florence as well and give my sister a ride down.  They will be staying in a hostel near the resort city for two days before returning to Croatia.  The sister from the Phillipines will return with her to spend time with her, as she doesn’t have a job to get back to or any commitments.  My mother also bailed after my aunt decided to come.  They are only staying in the area for two days before and two days after the wedding. I had to cancel the room I reserved for them (with a $400 fee!).  The idea of having a nice relaxing family vacation has quickly turned into everyone popping in for the wedding then running off to be with more fun people.

On the bright side, my sisters now have an opportunity to see eachother after living out of country and not visiting for months.  It stinks that my five year old (who loves and misses them) and myself will be cut out of their plans, but nothing I can really do about that one.  My hubby is growing to dislike my side of the family more and more with each new case of them being thoughtless, and I can’t really blame him.  This is how they’ve always been so I guess I’m kind of used to it.  The same is true of aunts and cousins.  We often get dismissed from other plans, such as birthday parties or general outings.  There are times when we are even explicitly NOT included, rather than just forgotten, because they don’t want to be around my son.  He is high-energy, but is a sweet kid overall.  end rant.  My new family is wonderful and goes out of their way to spend time with everyone.  They basically fight over who gets to spend with with my son.  I can’t wait for the wedding and to be formally part of the family!

Here I am, daydreaming at my wedding at work when I should be working.

16 more days until our wedding! I’m scheduled for a hair trial after work, and I’m scrambling to figure out what I want my hair to look like so I can take pictures to the stylist.

Then tomorrow night is my bachelorette party, and Saturday is my bridal shower! I’m so excited, but I haven’t even started to think of what I should wear for those… Not to mention I need to go to the store and pick up ingredients for a mimosa bar, etc.

Sunday my Fiance and I are going to go look at wedding bands for him. We’ve put that off too long.

What last minute details are you ladies working on this weekend?

InspieLass:  My fiance is out of town this weekend. I’m so tempted to have another bachelorette party (I already had one on a cruise!), but that’s probably being a little greedy haha.

I am working but multitasking. I just purchased some signage for our guestbook, cards, etc. I received my bridesmaid’s pashmina’s today and I ordered myself one as well. I ordered the remaining linens I needed.

I haven’t heard from my DOC yet and we are a month out so I’m going to email her later today as well if I don’t hear from here.

I’m also browsing online for other things like flower girl baskets, ring bearer pillow, etc.

I had my bridal shower last weekend and it was so awesome! 🙂

Next week I’m going to schedule my final fitting and then next weekend is another hair trial since I’m still trying to decide how to wear my hair. I’ve got a few little things left to do and we’ve still got a month to go! Thank God I’m a planner.

I feel like I have nearly everything done finally!  Just need to talk with the dj, give final counts/final check for venue and bar, diy seating charts, and arrange my flowers!!

my biggest scare was not getting my etsy wedding band in time, and I finally got that today

Ugh, I feel so behind. Hair and make-up trial next week. Final fitting (I hope) next week. Finalize ceremony with pastor this weekend. Do something with the 800 yards of tulle and 800 feet of twinkly white lights to hang from the ceiling. Assemble paper Chinese lanterns and string lights. Track down the missing RSVP’s to try and get a final number to the caterer. Final meeting with DOC and DJ tomorrow. Assemble too many to count Ikea lanterns because I assumed they would come put together and they didn’t! Try not to stress eat so much that my dress doesn’t fit…? 🙂 And, oh yeah, a marriage license! Gag, I am frekaing out all ready!

AMNDAPLZ:  We invited the pastor and his wife to the reception. but I am not sure it’s a requirement… we’ve just known them a long time, so it would have been weird not to…

I retyped my to do list this morning, not as bad as i thought. I printed all my place cards and started to make them last night.. only to realize i put the wrong tables on most. So i get reprint 40 of them. Sigh, my poor printer.

My Future Sister-In-Law told me last night that she, her sister (another BM) and her mom are going to get their hair done somewhere else day of the wedding. That stung a bit, hurt my feelings but I shall move past! My goal is to have EVERYTHING, with the exception of paying for my venue/DJ, done the week before the wedding. I think it’s possible.

I feel like I was so TOGETHER and organized throughout my planning, and the last month has been so hectic. Today I am meeting with my DOC, caterer and venue coordinator. I have a lot of small things to do, like put together all the signage we got, put together the favors (basically add a tag to to them), buy final reception decor (candles, etc.), track down remaining RSVPs, finalize rentals, and start packing EVERYTHING to travel to the venue about an hour away. Oh yeah and start packing to move in with Fiance. And pack for my honeymoon. Stress level: high.

We finished buying all of the alcohol last night! We looked/felt like alcoholics with so much in our cart! Dropping $400 on just alcohol didn’t help that feeling either! I scheduled by trial spray tan and makeup for next week. I feel pretty accomplished this week…got a good bit scratched off my todo list! Still have alot left to go though!

November 14th!!  Ahhh 23 days away!!  This week was dealing with the florist.  The girl who we worked with and booked a contract no longer works there. So I had to go over everything again with the new girl that took her position.  Also, the vases the other girl had “tagged” for our wedding weren’t tagged.  We had to go back to the florist and re-pick everything out.  I really hope that the pictures we provided and the words on the contract will all come to life with what’s in my head.  I don’t want to show up to our wedding and it all be wrong…. Does anyone else have that fear??
