My new Fiance and I are lately having the discussion of when to have our wedding. Although originally my Pinterest-addicted self was SO sure we were going to have the perfect outdoor barn wedding ceremony and reception in June, upon doing a little searching, I realized it is CRAZY expensive and difficult to do so, especially in my area (Southeast Michigan). My wedding dreams were a little crushed, but we realized that if we simply move the wedding indoors, the possibilities are a lot more endless (and affordable).
So, I like the idea of having an off-season wedding. The two months we have narrowed it down to are now November 2015 or January 2016.
Pros for Nov: A little warmer, can likely take photos outdoors still, still considered a “fall” wedding. Cons for Nov: Close to Halloween and Thanksgiving, people will be likely Christmas shopping at the time, more expensive than January, may be harder for family members to take time off work.
Pros for Jan: probably one of the cheapest months, not much going on this month, “new beginnings”, better deals, easier for people to get time off work. Cons for Jan: Much colder, risking the chance of a snow storm, likely can’t take photos outdoors, has stigma of “winter wedding”, people have just finished Christmas shopping
So, I have made a poll to get your help! Any advice from past experiences would be so helpful! Thank you 🙂
