So I am planning my November 13, 2010 wedding. I am so completely overwhelmed with color/theme decisions.
At first I wanted to play off the "fall theme" and use copper and chocolate brown etc. Then after thinking about it I remember I live in Wisconsin and am afraid that it could snow and there I’ll be standing in a see of fall that looks comletely off.
I then came across some invitations that really gave me some color inspiration-gray and chartruse. Take a look at the invite so see the combination. I love that its so modern, but I am torn with what to use to decorate the tables. I picture the girls wearing slate color dress, the guys wearing black tuxes, slate color vests and chartruse ties-however, I am worried that its going to start looking like spring in the middle of November. I thought about adding a plum color (see necklace) in the flowers but I am lost from there…I need help Ladies!

I’m from Wisconsin too and I totally feel you on the weather thing! I think that by November 13 there is a definite possibility for snow, so I am glad you are thinking about moving away from a fall theme. I LOVE the color combo you have picked out and I think the slate gray will really keep it modern yet wintry at the same time. I would go online and look at pictures of winter bouquets and centerpieces to get inspiration, but I am thinking maybe you could do clear cylindrical vases with silver branches that have candles hanging from them? To anchor the branches you could use colored stones that match your colors (ie use plum stones). I think that could be really chic and wintry. Sorry I don’t have a picture to show you what I mean but I hope that at least helps get your creative juices flowing! I seriously love that color combo though!

I love your color combo!! I’m getting married November 6 in Milwaukee, but I’m going with the fall theme, regardless of whether there is snow or not. I figured it would still be before Thanksgiving so fall decor is entirely appropriate 🙂
You could do silver vases or mint julep cups filled with deep purple flowers for centerpieces. There’s a lot of purple stuff in the classifieds. Also, check out Marshall’s. They have a lot of amazing stuff in the home goods department for great prices (though most of it is orange and red now).

The grey/chartreuse color combo is beautiful for November in WI (another WI bride here, though I am a wife now!). The plum/beet color is another good color which I think would pair really nicely with a grey as well. Hell, the grey/chartreuse/plum altogether would be fantasic, too!
I think you are playing it smart with the color combo you are thinking instead of Fall colors as it will probably be snowing here then. I wouldn’t stress too much about whether it is still “fall” or “winter” – most of the leaves will be fallen at that point.
Another winter combo that I love is just white and black with hints of ice blue. Love this inspo board from Snippet and Ink:

Thanks girls! I am toying with the idea of letting 3 of my girls wear a plum dress and three wear gray and then using the chartruse green as an accent color in the centerpieces, their flowers, the guys ties or something. I am just trying to come up with something as a centerpiece that AREN’T flowers that will still bring in the color theme (as we know flowers are expensive in WI in the winter) but I am still looking for an elegent modern look.

I’ve been thinking about adding grey to my chartruese and plum color choices, and now that I see it I think I’m going to! I love those invites..where did you find them?
