Wedding Date: November 3, 2013

Engagement Length:  8.5 months

Colors: Deep sage green, cream

Theme: Vintage bicycles (my fiance taught me to ride a bike while we were dating and he is a cycling fanatic)

Wedding Party(#s): 3 bridesmaids, 3 groomsmen

Ceremony (where, time): Wiens Family Cellars (winery in Temecula, CA) starting at 4 p.m.

Reception (where, time): Same place

Dress Style: David’s Bridal, T9612

Hair/Makeup (Pro/DYI): Pro.  One of my close friends is a wedding hair/makeup artist, so I’m lucky on that end!

Honeymoon Location: A week in Argentina and two days in Chile.

Flowers: Real…succulents and white and green flowers.  Thinking organic looking with structure… 🙂

Processional Song:Clair de Lune (it’s my name — heh) played by our string trio

First Dance Song: With or Without You — U2, played by our string trio

Centerpieces: Square arrangements of succulents and white flowers

Food/Menu: Filet mignon and butternut squash ravioli with a seasonal vegetable bundle.

Cake Flavour: TBD, but likely one tier Madagascar vanilla with chocolate malt frosting, and the other will be lemon with blueberry and white chocolate.

Favours: Hand-decorated cookies…half shaped like bicycles, and half shaped like cats (we love our cat!)

DJ/Band/Ipod: String trio/iPod

Photography/Videography:Photo only

Bachelorette (when/what):  Local night out with my best girlfriends in mid-October — boat cruise in Newport Harbor, dinner at my favorite restaurant, night at a hotel, fun brunch and pedicures the next day

DIY?: Table numbers and favor tags.  🙂  I don’t really have time to do much else.

Wedding Party(#s):Maid of honour,Best man and flowergirl (our daughter)

Ceremony (where, time): Local Chapel in Scotland 2pm

Reception (where, time): Local Hall

Dress Style: Amanda Wyatt- Gayle

Hair/Makeup (Pro/DYI): Pro

Honeymoon Location:None due to the weather in scotland being so unpredictable having a familymoon next summer.

Flowers: Real – Carnations sprayed purple for me and White carnations for everyone else

Processional Song:DUe to being in a chapel we have to have a traditional hymn

First Dance Song: All I Need by Within Temptation

Centerpieces: Vases filled with Water with aqua beads and floating candles and submerrsive lights. on mirrored plates. purple scatter crystals.

Food/Menu: Lentil soup for starter then Traditional scottish steak pie and chicken balmoral. then strawberries and ice cream for dessert

Cake Flavour: 1 tier is fruit and the other 2 is sponge

Favours: tea light candles in organza

DJ/Band/Ipod: DJ

Bachelorette (when/what):  meal then pubs and clubs…thats all I know

Engagement Length:  5 years

Colors: Navy Blue and Chocolate Brown

Theme: Colonial, traditions with modern twist

Wedding Party(#s): 2 Maid/Matron of Honor, 1 Bestman, 1 Groomsman

Ceremony (where, time): Small childhood church; built 1897 – at 6:00 pm

Reception (where, time): Le Yaca (French Restaurant) 8:00 pm

Dress Style: A-line, taffetta, ivory, corset back, heavily beaded top – cascading down to a ruched bodice, with straps

Hair/Makeup (Pro/DYI): had both make-up and hair pro done

Honeymoon Location: Colonial Williamsburg, VA

Flowers: DIYSaved a ton purchasing gorgeous flowers from Trader Joe’s; creams, whites, greens, and a touch of red hyperciums

Processional Song: Turning Page by Sleeping At Last

First Dance Song: Did not have a first dance – but if we had – the song would have been ‘Dance With Me’, but Jesus Culture

Centerpieces:  The restaurant for the reception is so very beautiful, we did not need to decorate – it was just breathless!  They always have fresh flowers and candles on each table, and twinkling lights on Christmas Trees leading into the venue – smelled so good! 

Food/Menu: 4 Course Dinner:  hor d’oeuvres – bacon wrapped scallop, tuna tare tare on banana leaf, mediterranean veg skewers, etc, salad, choice of soup, choice of entree – duck, fish, beef, and then the amazing CAKE !!

Cake Flavour:  The restaurant’s french pastry chef made a fantastic European cake:  square shaped, 4 layered, hazelnut/pumpkin, creme brulee briosh, chocolate mousse – blue ribbon around the base, and cream colored roses on top cascading down the side.  It was so delicate, with a nice balance of flavors! 

Favours: Navy blue cinch sacks with honey jars (brown, navy blue and cream personalized labels and brown natural fiber ribbon) – AND – our fav tea (in natural fiber brown envelopes, with cream labels).  We love tea and honey – always try different flavors when we travel.

DJ/Band/Ipod: No DJ – venue was at a 5 star resturaunt – the music they played was perfect !

Photography/Videography:Pro photography. Friends and family took video.

Bachelorette (when/what):  My Maid/Matron of Honor and I went spent the weekend at The Williamsburg Lodge in Colonial Williamsburg – nice, relaxing weekend – great dining at local places, including The Williamsburg Winery/Cafe Provencal.  Bashed about ‘The Burg’.


Olive oil bottles with personalized labels for the rehearsal dinner favors, Honey Jars and Tea for favors at the reception – had local honey from a bee keeper fill jars I bought online – designed and ordered labels online for Olive Oil and Honey jars – bought our fav tea and filled envelopes with a few tea bags. 

Did the flowers for Maid/Matron of Honor, my own boquet, mother’s corsages, groom and groomsmen boutonniers.

Had a few friends tie lanters to church pews with ribbon, and other basic decor for church.

Theme: We don’t have a theme per say except maybe a foodie theme. Our reception is at a culinary school and really everything was planning around good food. 

Wedding Party(#s): 1 Matron of Honor, 1 Bridesmaid, 1 Best Man, 1 Groomsman

Ceremony (where, time): St. Francis Church in Sonoma, 2:30pm

Reception (where, time): Ramekins Culinary School, 3:30pm (cocktail hour start)

Dress Style: Martinia Liana 346

Hair/Makeup (Pro/DYI): Pro, I suck at hair. 

Honeymoon Location: We are doing a mini-moon to So-Cal going to Disneyland and Hollywood

Flowers: Real, all seasonal flowers. 

Processional Song: Pachelbel’s Canon in D

First Dance Song: Jack Johnson 0 Better Together

Centerpieces: 3 mismatched vases with flowers, gold votives. 


Cocktail Hour: Seared Ahi Tostadas, Mini Black Bean Empenadas, Pulled Pork BBQ Slider with Fennel Slaw, Curried Chicken Wonton Cups

Starter: Mixed Organic Greens with Shaved Jack Cheese, Candied Walnuts and Sherry Vinegrette

Main: Roasted Filet with Spinach and bacon OR Butter Poached Halibut with Potatoes OR Wild Mushroom Ravioli with a Cream Sauce and Arugula

Late Night Snack: Taco bar with chicken adobo and carne asada

Cake Flavour: Banana cake with peanut butter frosting and covered in chocolate ganache or carmalized pear cake with cinnamon spiced frosting and walnuts

Favours: 4 mini french macaroons from Bouchon Bakery and photostrips from the photobooth

DJ/Band/Ipod: DJ and Live Mariachi Band

Photography/Videography:Yes to photography

Bachelorette (when/what):  Nope.

DIY?: DIY’d programs, signage, escort cards, some reception decor
