Our LO is not here yet but I have seen my nieces and nephews sprout right before my eyes.  It makes me so sad to see them grow up so fast.

I think this is why people have more than one, hehe.  My friend just gave birth 4 months ago and she already wants another little one!

I totally know what you mean; the baby stage is the whole inspiration, but the actualization of it is so, so short.  I miss Dirty Delete being in the baby stage; toddlerhood is fun, but she’s already so much a person, and I miss her as a newborn.

I can’t believe your daughter is one already!  It seems like just  a couple months ago you were pregnant.  🙂

@flamingred:  The second ones goes even faster, if you can believe it.  DS is 5.5 weeks old; I was holding him this morning and wondering, “Where did that 5.5 weeks go?!”  I could’ve sworn I was just pregnant like a few days ago!

My baby is over 4 months and I felt like “what the hell am I doing??” to old pro in like, no time! It’s so crazy.. I have always been nervous of little babies – a coworker just brought in her 7 week old and I was nervous about holding her, lol. In such little time I forgot what a tiny newborn was like, they do grow so fast!

I can only imagine how quickly it is going to fly by!

Would you bees who already went through the infant stage mind putting together some type of list as to what baby items are neccesities and which are a waste of money?

Aww this makes me sad!!  My nephew was 7 this week, and honestly it was only about 2 months ago I was holding him when he was 18 hours old.  I blink and he’s 4 months, I blink again and he’s 3.  Then who knows where the last few years went!!  It’s not like we never see him and my neice (we see them 40+ weekends a year)  but time just goes so fast.  TOO fast.

And I know what you mean about them being walking talking PEOPLE at one.  I see ‘babies’ 0-5 in my job and it surprises me every time how developed they are by the time they are 6 months +

omg YES! every time he grew, or started doing something new, I was a little bit sad.  I mean he doubled in size in 3 months.  I wasn’t necessarily excited for the baby stage while pregnant, but once it came, i did love it! The thing that got me through it was knowing we planned to have another baby…..

that said, once he started talking (he is now 20 months) I have felt less of this nostalgia as things are just so darn fun now.  I actually look back and marvel that I thought it was so fun when he was a new born because he didn’t DO anything!  although I do still miss just holding him whever I want – now he will actually take my hands and remove them if they happen to be touching him and he doesn’t like it 🙁

@flamingred:  This depresses the hell out of me. Time flies so fast. Granted–the fun times are still majorly comin’ but the baby times are gone:( Unless you can bring in #2!!! I hope you have tons & tons of pictures:)))

Aw congrats!  Spaghetti is advanced!   Right now when I look at my little girl (11 months), sometimes I think baby but most of the time I see toddler, it’s crazy how short of a time they’re baby girls for.  And oh my, the opinions, it’s wonderful and hilarious but frustrating all at the same time.  It was nice when she was a baby and the only thing she had an opinion on was hungry NOW.
