I can’t believe the poll is split! I definitely prefer Mozzy if the puppy is a boy.

I agree with PPs that Mozzy is better for a boy.

    Cute pup!

Mozzy, I agree with PPs, here in Australia Mozzie (spelt like that) is slang for mosquito

Mozzy ๐Ÿ™‚ Agree with the rest that say the “y” feels and looks more masculine ๐Ÿ™‚

Another vote for “ie” typically being more feminine (think Bobby vs. Bobbie).

Seems like coin flipping time! The polls are so even!

I’m with PP’s about the ‘ie’ being more feminine thing, though.

At first I thought “ie,” but after reading others, I tend to agree with the “y” being masculine.

Also when talking masculine/feminine…. I see you put the pronounciation at the top – I can’t help that I grew up in Cleveland and all I can think is that “maah-zee” is going to sound very “Cleveland” and possibly more feminine?

    Just my thoughts ๐Ÿ™‚

In a suggestion, you could possibly pronounce it “mau-zee.”  It will surely be cute either way you choose to spell or pronounce and is a great name! Ours will be Aussie – so I’m partial to similar names!

I vote Mozzy, because just seeing “Mozzie” written makes me want to smack it because I’m thinking of Mosquitoes, which I’m allergic to and they taunt me.  I wouldn’t smack a dog though – just so you know!

Mozzy! He’s got the Y chromosome. ๐Ÿ˜€ (You know, I don’t actually know that dogs have Y chromosomes, but he’s your son now, so I stand by it!)
