So ever since i got engaged my mom has wanted me to have my cousin Mike* to be a bridesman in my wedding party. We used to be very close, yes. But we’ve since drifted. Mom hasn’t stopped bugging me about this for the past several months. Then she decided since Mike is engaged to Amy they should both play a part in the wedding. While i explained that our wedding party was large enough (i have 8 bridesmaids) she just didn’t seem to want to let it go. So to get her to shut up I said i MAYBE Mike could walk our grandmother down the aisle at the church. She seemed happy with that and dropped it. It HAD been about 2 months without her mentioning anything and i thought she finally gave up the idea. While at my grandmothers house this past weeked with my family we were discussing wedding plans. In front of everyone including Mike and Amy my mom says “Well isn’t there something you would like to ask Mike and Amy?” I was floored. All eyes were on me and i literally had no idea what to say. So i just shot my mother this i will kill you look and mumbled “no, not yet” I know she put me on the spot on purpose!! After the completely awkward moment. My brother brought up a new topic. While i was cleaning up with my aunt (Mike’s mom) she was all excited and she’s like “What are you having Mike and Amy do?? Are they bringing up the gifts? are they in the bridal party? What do you have planned for them?!” Just so she would let it go i said “Well it’s a surprise you’ll just have to wait.” Well you know what? It’s a surprise to me too! I didn’t plan on including them in the wedding other than them being guests!! My mother backed me into a corner and now i have to figure out what on earth i’m going to do with Mike and Amy. Do any of you Bees have any ideas?? Because my fiance and i have NOTHING and it’s the one thing that’s really stressing me out right now. I can’t beleive my mother did that to me.
