Anybody ever gone to one? I went skinny dipping before on the night of my 21st birthday but it was pitch black and nobody was really around, except the person I was dating at the time!
We are going on a cruise May 27th and I was thinking of seeing if maybe there were some nude beaches at any of the ports either in nassau or freeport …just to sort of be adventerous and try something different!
Has anybody ever been to one? Is it awkward?!
ETA: my best friend went to one and her umbrella blew away the second they sat down so her bf had to go run and get it NAKED! lol that’s the only experience I have heard of, she also mentioned that a lot of the people there are “old” ..sort of wondering if in the bahamas things are different?

Darling Husband and I have talked about going to one someday. He is deathly afraid he will get… ahem… aroused… and won’t be able to hide it, though… hehe. I think it’s kinda funny that’s his only hang up. I tried to tell him that if that happens, it’s not like he’s the ONLY guy who that’s happened to before. I think it would be kind of interesting to experience a nude beach sometime!

I’ve never been to one but I think it would be neat to experience sometime. Just for a different, outside-of-the-box experience.

@Dell79: LOL about your friend!
I haven’t, but our honeymoon resort has a nude beach on this nearby island… I have no idea if we’ll actually be brave enough to go! Plus Fiance burns SO easily (he’s got that snow-white coloring) so maybe its a bad idea lol

I’ve never been to a fully nude beach, but when I lived in Australia, it wasn’t uncommon to see women who were topless…

I went to one. But it’s a strange, awkward situation. I went on a cruise with my family and another family. My dad was obsessed with snorkeling and wanted to find the best snorkeling beaches in St. Maarten. The one he found ended up being a nude beach. HA. I guess it was on the best snorkel spots for a reason LOL!!

We went to a fully nude beach in Riviera Maya and it was fun! We actually felt weird with our clothes ON as we were the only ones there who weren’t naked. It really isn’t a big deal at all, and people at the nude resorts/beaches aren’t there to oogle – it’s more of a lifestyle than a ‘treat’. You know?
If you get the chance, go! There might even be a topless deck on your cruise.

- Wedding: June 2012 - Franklin Plaza
I went to one in FL a few years ago with Fiance and my Maid/Matron of Honor.
It wasn’t awkward just because I was comfortable with the people I was hanging out with, but I will say that it was mostly senior citizen aged dudes.
There is one on the resort we’re going to for our honeymoon and we can’t wait to check it out! I’m hoping it’s a younger crowd.
@MrsNerdy: I got a god awful sunburn on my bum and the plane ride home was SO PAINFUL! Tell him to wear lots of sunscreen. 😉

I’ve been to one and a handful of topless beaches but I never went fully nude. Just topless. I wasn’t comfortable being fully nude in the company I was with.
It’s nothing exciting. I felt more “confined” to our towel/lounge because I didn’t want to prance around the beach without the proper, ahem, support and didn’t want to be face to face with old man junk. eww.
