I have the same problem.  Dark colors look fine, lighter and nude colors streak.  I end up just putting on very, very light coats… and a lot of them!

I think Essie is pretty good, but I think the trick is to do thin coats and lots of them. For nude shades I do two, sometimes three coats.

I really like OPI Samoan Sand, but I agree with PPs in that most of streakiness has to do with application.

@jessyrez:  It’s not necessarily application. Some nail polishes are just more prone to streaking (opaque, light colors come to mind). The best way to avoid this is to read online reviews from nail polish bloggers. Most of the good ones will always mention if streaking is an issue.

Another way to avoid streaking is to do the thin-thicker-thin application: one thin coat (will look super streaky), a thicker coat to make sure everything is opaque, and a final thin coat to smooth everything out.

ETA: I second OPI Samoan Sand and would also like to suggest OPI Sand in My Suit. The latter has some shimmer which seems to even out the polish and prevent streaks.

I don’t know if you have it there but I find the nude colours in rimmel or sallyhansen go on well and they have fast drying too 🙂

I pretty much only use zoya nail polish and I never have streaking. It’s seriously the best polish I’ve ever used.

Lots of very thin coats. It will streak, but it will cover itself when you apply more coats.

Nude colors do tend to streak.  Like the other girl’s said, it’s all about applying a couple of coats.  I usually do 2-3.

I’m a dark colors girl too but have been experimenting with lighter colors for my own wedding. I highly recomend the Dior nude colors. They’re pricier than other polishes but I believe they’re worth it! I don’t have the streak issues and only one or two coats are enough to make the color opaque.

@ThatOneGirl9613:  +1 I have this color too and LOVE it.  Never comes out streaky.  Are you putting on 2 coats and a base coat first?
