We invited 130 and 100 came. 10-ish of those were courtesy invites (elderly relatives living in another state) that we knew wouldn’t be able to attend. So about 20 of our local guests responded “no.”

penny1403 :  Four people brought their children even though children weren’t invited (it wasn’t that I was aiming for an “adults only” event and I didn’t care one way or the other if there were kids there, but due to budget and size of the event space I didn’t invite kids), one person who I thought wouldn’t travel for the event did travel but had decided last minute they didn’t want to travel alone after all and brought a guest (a known family friend, not a stranger and it was still within easy driving in one day distance), one had plans with their adult child (who I also know) just prior to the event and that ran long but she didn’t want to cancel or come late to my event so both came, and one brought their significant other who I didn’t know existed (and was probably my bad for not checking beforehand and I honestly thought they would decline in the first place).

In the end it was no big deal.  The caterer had budgeted for extra food as good caterers do, the event coordinator managed to bring down an extra table and chairs and squeeze everyone in and we all had a good time.

We invited 50 and 45 came. It was small, but we still felt surrounded by love on our big day.

we had about 1/3 decline.  however, we invited over 200 people (some of which were my MIL’s friends who i had never met and ended up RSVPing no) and most had to travel from out of state.

if your guests are more local and i’m guessing know you quite well given the small wedding size, i would expect a higher acceptance rate.

ETA:  since your wedding is on tuesday, you might get more declines from people if they work a typical 9-5 or have kids in school.

Waiting for final RSVP now but we invited 52 and I think we will be around 40-42.  We each picked 24 people to invite plus we added a few people early on when people said they couldn’t attend. I have a huge family so if I would have extended it past my immediate family to the cousins, just the one round of second cousins and their children that I talk to would have been another 30 people so we didn’t go there  I will be so happy if we stay under 45 as then we can spend more on the bar.
