Best thing I ever did.
We just got our first mystery RSVP, but beacuse I put little numbers on the back of them all it took 2 seconds to figure out who it was. It was a decline (expected) and instead of names they wrote ‘wish we could be there, enjoy your day’ and checked ‘decline with regret’
NUMBER YOUR RSVPs!!!

@MsGinkgo: Thank you for the reminder!! 🙂

@Astra: I almost forgot, and my numbering is somwhat random because of the way I addressed invites and I kept losing track of what number I was on so I’d start somewhere random, but it’s already paid off 😀

I haven’t decided if we’ll be doing mail or online RSVP’s, but need to remember to do this if we do them by mail.

MsGinkgo: We just compiled the invites last night! I had put the number of seats for each invite and an RSVP reference number into the spreadsheet before I got there. My mom kept asking me why I was putting numbers on the back, and I said that I’m doing it just in case someone has no idea what to do with an RSVP card and doesn’t put their name or a return address on the card.
She had no idea that people might do that.

We just got back our first mystery RSVP too! And Fiance thought I was being over compulsive by numbering them but it was so easy to figure out who’s it was that he agreed that I was right all along

- Wedding: October 2013 - The Fox Hill Inn
Thankfully, we didn’t get any mystery RSVP’s but we numbered all of ours. Our RSVP’s were sent to my parents because Darling Husband and I were out of the country when our invites were mailed. Having the numbers helped my mom and made it easy for her to track. Definitely recommend numbering!!
In a crazy story. One of our friends had an RSVP returned to them without a name AND without any accept or decline checked, just a big question mark. It was a guy who ended up not coming to the wedding… but what a d*ckhead/annoying way to respond.

Our invites went out yesterday and we made sure to number all the rsvps – always a smart thing to do! I’m now kind of curious to see if my parents get any back that are not legible and the numbers come in handy
