@soontobehisbride:  It seems like we have the same game plan… I’m doing my fitness pal and the elliptical and I can only manage 30 minutes or a little longer now since I just started back. I’m down 3 lbs so far. πŸ™‚

Woot! Congrats! FH is gone until Sunday so I am using that time to revamp my diet (as in not eat the terrible things he enjoys) and get a ton of exercise in. I simply want to get back to my pre-moving in weight which is 5 lbs less than I am now. After the wedding, I am going to try to lose another 10 lbs.

Congratulations!! My scale broke so I have no idea if I’ve lost anything, my clothes are fitting slightly better, they are still too tight though.

Great job!!! I am 10 down with My Fitness Pal. I’ve walked 11 miles this week (just 1 mile short of my goal for this week). Love it!

I am at the end of week 8 of working out 5x per week…I initially lost maybe 4 or 5 lbs but seem to have put it back on….I am hoping it is because I am toning up…muscle etc…I am a bit down about it though as this is the longest I have EVER stuck at this…was hoping by now to have lost 10 lbs and not be almost the same weight as when I started! I only burn between 200 and 300 calories per day on the elliptical….I find that 20 mins is the max I want to do right now…I will keep at it though!

@lifegirl:  I have lost most my weight by doing TONS of cardio. It’s the only way to lose. I just started my 8th week yesterday and I am down 20.5 lbs. I also use loseit.com to track my calories. I am not sure what your starting weight is but I eat 1400 calories a day. I also don’t eat my burned calories. I do 25 mins on the elliptical and at least 25 on the treadmill. I do that 4 days a week. The other 2 days I take a toning and strengthening class. While on the treadmill I try to beat my times. I am up to 3 miles in 36 mins πŸ™‚ Keep pushing! You can do it!

@RoyalLime:  wow you are doing great!…I guess I am not working out for long enough then…I am currently doing 20 mins elliptical 3 x per week and 2 days per week just 12 mins…I find that 20 mins is the most I want to do or can fit in…I work out at 5.30 am….I started out at around 136 pounds and lost 5…but now have put on about 3 pounds…I am hoping it is because I have toned up a bit…I kinda watch what I eat but am not on a diet…smaller portions and healthy snacks at work etc…my downfall is that I have a couple glasses of wine every night…bad I know.

@lifegirl:  Yeah if you can fit it in they say at least 30 mins of cardio a day. Do you ever get on the treadmill? You could walk fast on an incline for 25 mins in addition to your Elliptical workout.

Congrats!

I’ve been doing Weight Watchers and, in a little over a month, I’m down 10 lbs.  And that’s really just from diet changes.  I haven’t been going to the gym (although in the last couple of weeks, tennis has started again for the spring so I do have that 1-2 times per week).

@RoyalLime:  I only have an elliptical at home and also I have a weird foot so I find this is easier on my body than walking or treadmill etc…I also walk to work and walk to my kids school so definately get an additional 20 mins in every day just doing that…although I dont run like on the elliptical….I think I need to keep at it and eventually it should help…I am in my 9th week now but when I first started I was only doing maybe 12 mins per day…gradually increasing etc…my clothes fit better and I do look a bit better…I am just in a bit of a lull right now and not feeling very motivated but I wont give up…I have never excercised for 9 weeks straight before so dont want to quit now:)
