I had something similar when my guy was tiny. Only negative was that my huge breastfeeding boobs wouldn’t fit into it and it had a low weight limit for him. So I could only use it for a could weeks (I think the weight limit was like 10lbs) I used an ergo from very early on and am still using it at almost 18 months! It was a much better investment for me.

futuremrssquiggs :  I would recommend a stretchy wrap like the Solly, Boba, or Moby if your little guy is small! I used my Boba wrap from the time my baby was 3 weeks old until he was about 3 months, then I started using an Ergo soft structured carrier. My baby was too small for the Ergo until he was around 1 month, but he hated the infant insert, so I had to wait until I could use it with just the pillow. Also, if you have a local babywearing group where you can try out carriers, I would go there before you buy anything. If I had known about it, I would have gotten a LilleBaby instead of an Ergo! The LilleBaby so much more comfortable for me.

I find the nuroo impossible to put on without my husband’s help, which defeats the purpose for me.

Looks similar to the Higgs loops or another brand I forgot but have friends who’ve given them good reviews.  I’d probably go with one of those instead.  I would second finding a babywearing group to find the best solution for you both.  At that age I found ringslings to be a lifesaver!
