It was a toss up for me between the undersea and the forest theme.  I voted for the forest theme because the colors were a little more vivid and I think with trees and squirrels and such, it will be something that is a bit more easy to associate with as the child grows and starts making connections to things.

A firm no on the circus… circuses have clowns, and clowns are scary to this adult.

@michiru4ever:  That’s good.  My room growing up had clowns… I am still scarred.

Really I like the accessibility of it.  For the circus or the underseas theme the child would need to go to those places to be able to see something similar to their room.  For the forest things like trees or leaves or the more common animals are as easy to observe (and make the mental connection to this picture = this actual thing) as going to the back yard or a local park, though more exotic things would be at the zoo.

The mobile is really cute.  Like I’m so far off from thinking about kids (so disregard my opinion as you see fit :D), but I want to save that picture cute.

I think the circus theme would be the best to grow with the child! It’s much more timeless than cartoony animals.

@michiru4ever:  I voted circus solely because I’m digging the vintage alphabet posters!

I like the pcitures you posted for the circus theme the best. I should point out though that my style tends to be more…mature. I don’t really like nurserys that have cartoons or look like they were decorated for a toddler. I know that is completely crazy…. I just want my nursery to fit with the rest of the style of my house while still functional for the furture baby if that makes sense.

I am not a big fan of those wall-cling things in general, but I like your ocean accessory ideas best, followed by the forest stuff. I think with the forest theme, if you did a little digging, you could come up with all sorts of neat stuff.

@michiru4ever:  You totally said it way better than I did but that is exactly how I feel. Our future nursery is painted a dusty blue, same as DH office. We have a kahki color futon and curtains in it. We will add some navy throw pillows if its a boy, some pink and purple ones if it is a girl, and of course some fun paintings/patterns/mobiles either way. Done and done.

I like the under water theme. Honestly I think the circus theme is adorable – but I don’t like clowns and I hate the circus since the animals are usually abused 🙁

I love the Under the Sea idea (but DH and I are both SCUBA divers so maybe I’m a little biased).  The Forest Friends is pretty cute too.
