I’m not a nursing student but I was one, and worked full-time and was the single mom of two.

It’s hard work but you will get through. Ask people for help and delegate, delegate, delegate.

I’m not a nursing student, but I’m an OT student currently on clinicals. I can definately relate! I just try to schedule my time carefully and work with vendors on the weekends.. it can be frustrating.. but it’s a great break from studying!

There are a lot of students on here, if you’re looking for support I’d open this discussion up to all of them! 🙂

I’m applying to a program beginning in September 🙂 I’m already married, but while planning I taking 35 credit hours between 2 Universities to finish up my bachelors. It was hell. My last two finals were the day before the wedding. I really relied on my husband to work things out with vendors.

I actually graduated nursing school this past december, passed boards a couple weeks ago, got a full time job, and bought a house….and during nursing school I planned all of it, from the wedding, to the house…it was CRAZY, but clearly doable!

BUT…I also told myself when I started nursing school I didn’t want to get married DURING nursing school…I wanted it to be after I graduated and had time to take boards etc…I wouldn’t be able to relax on my honeymoon if I were still in nursing school, because exams would be on my mind constantly….so honestly…I’d at LEAST wait until after you graduate! IMO.

Not to thread jack, but I’m planning on applying to nursing school here soon… you have time to work full time AND do school?  I was under the impression that I’d be in school full time and then basically live off my student loans… this is not the case?

@Ayslinn87: You could live off loans or parents, I guess. I worked at least part time while getting my BSN.

@helenberrycrunch: lol I’m too old to live off my parents. =)  But I was thinking that I would be living off loans while my partner works full time.  It just surprised me that pther nursing students have been able to work full time while in school… gives me hope that maybe I can do the same.

If anyone wants to enlighten me how they did it/are doing it without living off parents, PM me! I’d love to hear it, since I’m about to go from full time job back to full time school for the first time in quite awhile!

@Ayslinn87: I ate a lot of peanut butter.

I didn’t live with a partner or my parents during my time at school, so I had to work just to live. It wasn’t easy and it wasn’t fun.
