I always got my period on Sundays when I was on the pill, but that switched to Wednesdays when I was on the nuvaring. I would try to relax until it’s time to put the next one in. Stress can cause your period to be late too!

When I switched to nuvaring in college (not on it anymore) I didn’t get a period that first month after the switch, it took my body another month to get my period. I don’t think it’s abnormal, but if you are freaking then maybe put a call in to your doctor so they can easy your mind.

Also use condoms during this time just to be safe!

Hmm I don’t know then. I’m not a doctor but I can tell you in my experience I went from the Mirena IUD to the Nuvaring and did not get my period for that first month. But again this is just my experience, I’m sorry I can’t help more!

You won’t have a normal “cycle” like you do with non-hormonal birth control. If the ring is working correctly, you won’t ovulate and your “period” will become completely rescheduled. You won’t have the same length of cycle as you had before because everything is now being artificially controlled by the hormones in the ring. If the test was negative, it’s highly unlikely that you’re pregnant.

Switching BC can do weird things to your body, I really would not panic 🙂

When I take the ring out on Sunday afternoon, I don’t get my period until middle of the night Tuesday, for what that’s worth!

Just to confirm did you have the ring in for three weeks and then take it out? How long has it been since you took the ring out? It will take like 3-4 days for most women to start bleeding after taking the ring out. Did you put the ring in right at the end of your last period?

Did you start the Nuva Ring the day it tells you too on the box i forget if its the 7th day after the first day of your period or what? If you start it just whenever you get it it can definitely play with your cycle. When i started Nuva Ring I did not have my period with the ring free week because i started it in the middle of a cycle. I also was 3-4 days late for 4 periods after I stopped using the Nuva Ring… And I never started it again becuase I didn’t like how irregular it made my USUALLY regular periods. I wouldn’t worry.
