Hello! I have read a lot of great advice on birth control on here and I just have a more specific question about the Nuvaring maybe some of you could give your personal advice on.
I have been on nuvaring for a month now (tomorrow is my 3 week mark). Have any of you that have used it ever experienced the nuvaring lowering on its own towards the end of the 3 weeks? It hasnt slipped completely out, but I’ve just noticed in the last few days it keeps lowering.
Any advice would be awesome – thanks!

i never noticed it lowering, but i also didn’t care for it in general, so i probably shouldn’t have even replied to the post. good luck with it.

I don’t notice a time of the month when it lowers, but sometimes it does go lower sometimes it doesn’t depending on nothing I can determine. If it’s bothering you: take it out, give it a wash (or don’t, this isn’t crucial) and then try repositioning it.

Mine lowers and sometimes it has fallen out. I’m not on it anymore, but it’s fallen out a few times. Not a big deal….it has done it during sex or once when i was using the restroom and it caught on the toilet paper and it dropped in!!! Gross. I rinsed it off like the dr said and popped it back in. She also showed me how to flex it better before i stick it up there to help it stay. But your body has natural crevices and sometimes it just finds its own little nook

I have been on the Nuvaring for over a year now and yes – my Nuvaring lowers sometimes. I wouldn’t say it always happens at a specific time of the month, but it does happen (sometimes more often in one month than others – who knows why!). Depending on your “shape” down there, the muscles and day-to-day movement (including using the washroom sometimes) may slowly start to push it out a bit. No big deal. Wash your hands and just push it back up to where it is comfortable and you can’t feel it anymore.

I never noticed a trend of it going lower as the weeks progressed. I will say that I did notice movement if it was ‘messed with’ due to something such as a tampon or intercourse.

Huh. I have been on it for about a year and have never noticed it. That is, other than putting it in and taking it out, I do not notice it all. When you say it lowers, can you feel it when it is “higher?”

It took me a while to figure out how to insert it far enough. That’s the only reason it ever slips for me.
