I saw a local  guy on the news the other night who got arrested.  His middle inital was “M” and his last name was “Flucker.”  My husband and I laughed and laughed and laughed.  🙂

Fwiw, I have an unique name, and I love it.  It’s never been a hinderance to me (education or career-wise), and I think it fits my personality perfectly.  I would never change my name.  However, if my last name was “Flucker,” I would definitely change it.

@Mrs. Spring:

Yeah you would think people would take advantage of the fact that you CAN legally change your name, first or last!

A girlfriend of mine married a man with a last name thats only one letter away from ANUS, and pronounced very similarly.

She agreed to take his name as long as he agreed they could change it before they had children.

@onyx81: hehe –  I dont know about children, but I bet there are some dogs and cats with that name  😛   You would think with all the controversy over it, if there was actually anyone with that name, someone would have provided evidence by now.

I just wish people would stop putting apostrophes in names.  Punctuation has rules you can’t just do whatever the hell you want.  And, no they are not the same as accent marks found in other languages such as Spanish.  sorry, small vent.

@plantains: I’m terribly sorry if I managed to offend you. I really am not trying to be racist. I was simply trying to be descriptive of a group of girls that were of what I believed is called the “ghetto” persuasion, and since I also know girls like that who are white and chinese, I was trying to be more descriptive. I suppose that was unnecessary, and I apologize. I have some very close friends who are black, and once dated someone who was half black (one of the sweetest and wittiest people I’ve ever met), so I don’t consider myself racist. You can say was stereotyping, however, and I will agree with you completely.

@MightySapphire: One of my neighbors once had a cat named “Mazick” (I don’t know the actual spelling) and I think it translated to “little shit.”

Great, I made a fool of myself. How did I not see your posts, and I typed out exactly what you guys expected! I read through the thread again before posting, how could I have missed that.

I feel terrible now. I’m sorry…

I went to high school with a kid named Dusty Cooch.

And another one named Royal Horseman.

No joke. Haha.

@mandypop: SSI is only the US though, correct? My former roommate was from another country and not actually a citizen… I don’t think most of the kids at her school were, it’s a prestigious private school. So there could be people in other countries with those names.

And as a PP said… the rumors and stories are super old, anyone could have heard about it and thought it would be funny to name their kids one of those.
