Cool cake! I have loved Dr. Who since the 80s. Ah the days of Tom Baker!

Oh dear.  I am going have to make sure Fi doesn’t see this.  He’ll start getting ideas on the wedding cake Tongue out.  He just download every episode.  All the way back to the sixties!!

Great job on the cake!!

That’s awesome!

FH is getting a Tardis groom’s cake- but we’re getting that done professionally as I will have enough on my hands with the Kransekake and the whoopee pies that week. I tried to explain the concept to my friend’s at dinner tonight and they all just did that slow nod that says “Crazy Talk” though one friend is equally excited as we are about it.

(We’re using Fondant for the sides so we don’t have the stained hands problem. )

One of my favorite shows of all time. I love both the cakes.

I had no idea there were so many people on board with the idea of Tardis cakes.  Wonderful!  The ones pictured in this thread are just fabulous.

No Tardis cake at my wedding, but when we are announced at the reception, the DJ is going to play the Dr. Who theme (the really freaky one from the early 1980s).  Yay, Dr. Who!

@MsInterpret: As of right now it will be upright and probably have 60 servings of cake + some styrofoam. The owner of the bakery was flipping out when we told her what we wanted and brought out my series one DVD set which unfolds into the TARDIS. Turns out she’s a huge fan and can’t wait (we still need to sign a contract.)

Neither of us like the taste of fondant so my cake will be buttercream and his will be buttercream under the fondant.

I love that cake and LOVE Dr. Who!  I fell hard for David Tennant and haven’t been the same since.  I may have to take this idea for my dad’s b-day he is a classic Dr. Who fan from the 60s and turned me onto the show.

Thank God Fiance doesn’t read this! All I ever hear from him about the wedding is how he wants a TARDIS cake πŸ˜›
