- Wedding: May 2014
I had a major flood from a burst pipe in January. My downstairs was damaged completely. My Fiance is a contractor and he is doing or subbing out most of the work himself. We are completely remodeling the entire house (except 2 bedrooms) so it it works for our soon to be family of 5 (I have 2 kids and he has one from previous marriages). We have torn out my kitchen, torn our my steps. We are adding a bedroom, changing the roof line, redesigning the kitchen, opening the bottom floor and taking out walls, retiling the bathroom and the entrance from the garage, refinishing and adding hardwood. Did I mention we are getting married May31? Wheew, I am stressed out. I know it will be beautiful. We are doing a 50s vintage inspired kitchen, complete with a vintage Chambers gas stove. We just ordered kitchen cabinets in a light grat color, and we are doing marble countertops. The tile in the downstairs bathroom is a vintage inspired marble basket weave. My Fiance is doing most of the work, but man is this stressful! My house is completely torn up. We are living with him. I am thankful for his ability to do this work (he is amazing; his work is outstanding) and I am thankful for the insurance that is paying for it. It is a lot of stress, but I am excited we will be starting a new marraige in the almost equivilent of a new house. But I am stressed. Ugh; just had to get it out.
