I’m thinking of making one out of barrel style planters for a decoration and giving it to my parents after the wedding.
They have a giant koi pond/garden/sanctuary in their back yard and I think a fountain would be a cool addition + it will be from my wedding and made by me so it will be sentimental.
How hard is this to do? How expensive? I was thinking something like this, but this one is $600

If you have the barrel already, you can just buy the pump kit at Home Depot or Lowe’s or garden centers.

Do you happen to know how hard it is to make the cascade effect. Also should the pump go at the bottom or the top? I’ve heard it both ways.
I have two old wine barrels that I will be cutting in half to do this.
