Hi hive! I’m heading to Boston this weekend with Fiance while he attends a conference. It’ll be my first time in Boston. What restaurants or other places should I hit up while I’m there? What are the must try places for an out-of-towner? Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions

I live by Fenway, and these are some of the places I enjoy:
Boston Beer Works, they brew at the restaurant, and it’s good food
Jerry Remy’s if you want a sports bar
Yard House, has like 100 beers on tap
Church (yes it’s a bar), if you like bar food that has been made super fancy (sorta pricey and small portions), some pretty interesting cocktails too
You could also check out Quincy Market–tons of food choices!
other things to do:
Boston Common/Public Gardens
You could go to Sam Adam’s Brewery and then take a trolley to Doyle’s Pub after for lunch
Hang out on the Esplanade down by the Charles River
Museum of Fine Arts (also near Fenway)
…and other things……there’s a lot to do in Boston!

@rand04: OMG ok if you take the red line out to Davis Square in Somerville (like a ten-fifteen minute T ride from Park Street/the Common), go up College Ave right in front of Tufts University’s big field/track, there’s this little Mexican place called Tu Y Yo.
Like holy-moly authentic Mexican. Every time we took friends there they raved…last time we were there, all the servers were the restaurant owner’s daughters, and they all have beautiful thick accents. The food is absolutely amazing – every. single. chicken dish is delicious, and their cactus salad is out of this world.
Oh what fun to visit Boston! I lived there for many years. Pineapplez17’s list is pretty awesome so definitely check some of that stuff out!
Also, Harvard Square is a ton of fun – there’s lots of shopping to do, plus some excellent book shops and record stores if you want an afternoon of wandering without a lot of tourist-specific stuff.

Miel is ultra-amazing if you have some serious money to spend.
Also, you HAVE to go to the public gardens! Darling Husband and I live in Quincy (8 miles away) and we take the T into the city every month or so to see them!

Addis Red Sea – they have a location in Back Bay and also close to Harvard Sq in Cambridge. If you’ve never had Ethiopian food, you have to go check it out!

@BrandNewBride: I’m also a Quincy bride!
I know this is late but for future people looking at this thread for restaurant information I’d definitely recommend the Green Dragon (Inn or Tavern, I can’t remember), it’s pretty tourist-y (and if you’re from out of town that wouldn’t be a bad thing) but on Fridays they have amazing deals on lobster and the food is phoenominal! They’re right next to amazing shopping and the city hall as well (ugly building but the rest of the area is really nice!).
