To all the momma bees–
Just curious…did you decide to do the umbilical cord banking? It seems pricey but worthwhile. For those who did, did you shop around for providers or are they mostly the same price? And how long are you planning to store the cord blood?

We’re going to do it when we have a baby. My hubby has crohns and is always sick, so we feel that it will be a good decision for us to do it, despite the huge price. He works for our local blook bank, so we will ask his coworkers what the best provider is when the time comes.

I talked to my doctor about this and no one has actually used the cord blood for their child yet. He said that there’s one company that will give you money back if you don’t need it and you can also donate it to help another child.

I think seems like an interesting idea and I like the idea of donating it!
