@kate169: Maybe a thread should be created where we can all get to know each other a little better.  Something like that.  I wouldn’t mind talking back and forth with you girls.

I am a professional threadkiller, for real. Check my profile!

I feel your pain. 🙂

But… I like you!

@kate169: I was the same way so no worries. 🙂

@Kate169- You know, I have an idea. We could take our threadkilling talents to The Knot also and shut down some of that drama fest, making the world a better place. I could sleep well at night with that.

Honestly, it feels a lot like my high school experience. I definitely wasn’t one of the popular girls, but they were always friendly to me (with a few exceptions) and we got along alright, even if we weren’t BFFs. Feels the same way here, and I’m completely okay with that–I’m a bit of an introvert IRL. I like to sit back and observe (read threads), but don’t usually comment much.

Pretty much everyone here (with a few exceptions) has been very nice, even though I’m not a popular girl, which is why I like it here, and why I’ve stayed even though I’m already married.

Yes absolutely, I have been on this site for almost a year and a half and feel like no one knows me. In all fairness, I do not post all that much, I don’t have the time to put in the effort that some people do.

I’m a married bee now but I still love lurking around these boards. Maybe I need to start commenting more. Sometimes I am discouraged because when I do comment and give what I feel is good advice, I get no response. Oh well, such is life I guess.

First of all, I’d like to think thread killing is a compliment…It just means you’ve made the ultimate and best comment that can ever be made on the topic and rendered everyone else speechless Cool

Second, I wouldn’t take too much to heart the bff and favorite bee threads. I agree that the people who get mentioned the most are the loudest and most controversial personalities. There are so many people who I think are cool all the time but then I don’t make a point of memorizing their screen name or avatar, or when I’m asked to name people I can’t think of it readily. I know I would get along much better with some of the more quiet bees on here than the “popular” ones, because I’m a quiet kid myself.

Finally in the immortal words of Bilbo Baggins:

“I don’t know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.” Smile

When Fiance and I were talking about this board last night, I just said to him “I’m not very popular, I don’t get many responses.. either I title things poorly or I just don’t talk about interesting things, I’m not sure!” I’m not upset about it but, yes, I do feel a bit unpopular!

@kingytobe: There’s definitely an art to getting replies sometimes! I feel like the same art is sometimes used to create drama (usually unintentionally – so I guess it would be the lack of that art that’s used, haha), if someone phrases something badly and it implies something they didn’t mean to. 🙂

Good titles to posts really can catch the attention. Also, I feel like wedding posts usually aren’t as opinionated (unless they’re about etiquette – eesh!), so they don’t get as many replies, because people look at them and think, “Oh, someone already said what I was thinking” and click out to another thread. There’s just less to say on some topics!

@ddw: Oh I agree..  sometimes I’ll sit and think “whats a catchy way to say this so I get more responses???” or I’ll start making a post and remember that nobody cares about such and such and just search it on my own haha
