The only time he has come with me was when i had surgery twice this year. Otherwise, I don’t know why he would!

My SO went to all of our prenatal appointments with me.  And, when I had a medical issue that required a medical test that wasn’t too pleasant, he came with me.  Adding that when he had surgery on his knee, I went to the pre-op appointment with him, then to the hospital for the surgery.

Fiance has only been to the doctor once since I met him to get some moles checked and he didn’t want me to come!  FI has never been to the doctor with me (gyno appointments…awkward!) If it were more serious, or involved a pregnancy, we would attend together.

    Usually not, but sometimes.

When I was so sick and so exhausted I could barely focus drive a few blocks, he drove me to the doctor.

And when my OB/GYN told me I had a lump in my breast that needed checked out, and I went to get a mammogram and sonogram, he went with me. Even though they wouldn’t let him come in the exam room (which sucked, I was scared!) he drove me and was there for moral support before & after the appointment. Thankfully it was clear.

I guess a lot of “womanly stuff” they won’t let the guy come in. One of the couples my fiance and I are friends with, the wife went in to see if her fallopian tubes were both open by injecting dye and seeing if it went up both sides (he had testicular cancer, so they need to use frozen ‘boys’ for her to get pregnant) and they wouldn’t let her husband be in the room with her either.

I’ve been with Darling Husband to the doctor for some more serious issues, but not if it’s a check up or he has a bad cough or anything. Something that requires a specialist, yes. Something that involves his regular family doctor, no. He’s come with me to a couple of appointments, but again, only specialists and once when I had to have a CAT scan of my head done. That was fun 😉 Even at that, I didn’t want him to come but he insisted. Silly boy.

@Linz1231: Well if he hurt his back, driving might be uncomfortable for him no? I would go in a case like that for sure!

We dont go together, we never have. although the Mister came with me when I had to see a gynae for my first consultation when I had abnormal cells on my cervix, that really helped because we were both quite scared. He also obviously came to the surgery with me and took the day off to look after me afterwards, although I just slept the whole day! Anaesthetic does that to me!

We don’t usually unless there’s some reason we might need assistance after.  I had an ultrasound on my eyeball, and there was concern it might be too irritated to drive, so he came with me to that.

I’d assume he’ll come to anything baby-related in the future as well.

He ALWAYS takes me to the doctor and he ALWAYS goes in with me. He has only gone to the doctor once since we have been together and it was for a wart and he had me stay in the waiting room with our daughter.

Not really.  He’s only come to the doctor with me once, and that was only because I had wisdom teeth taken out and I was in no condition to drive home.  I only went with him once in a similar situation.  No need to go with each other for check ups.

@Linz1231: Ummm we had the sexiest real estate agent on earth. Sort of George Clooney-esque. I came very close to making extra appointments to see houses I didn’t care about just to visit with him. Bad Bakerella! Back to the point – Boys need hand holding and TLC and you’re lovely to go with him 😉

if its serious (meaning for him, anything than the common cold) then i tend to go with him

i could be dying and i dont want to go to the docs so he knows to leave me alone until i either start breathing again or to call the funeral home
