It disgusts me, but it doesn’t offend me.

FYI, Your  title is skewing the results, since you warn people that won’t agree with you not to click. So you won’t be hearing from the sensitive. But it seems like that is the point of this thread.

I’m a meat eater, but hog roasts are disgusting. Yuck.

I can totally see the perspective of how it grosses people out. I grew up around pig roasts, so I guess that’s another reason why this doesn’t really bother me, more that OMG that is going to be delicious!!!

We’re used to having meat without faces in the US. I was pretty offended the first time I stayed in Spain and my host mom showed me the ham with the hoof still attached. And then served all of our food with the face still on…

BUT with my line of work, I’ve become really desensitized to it. However, I cannot imagine having to be the one to pluck the feathers off of a chicken, chop off it’s head, gut it, etc. Nope, nope, nope. I will take cut and packaged from the grocery store any day of the week. And also the thought of doing the actual hunting and killing… well I’m not even going to touch that.

I’m not offended. I’m not a vegitarean. I like meat. I think animals are cute, but they were also put on the planet for our use. If you had posted a picture of an abused animal, that would be depressing, because while animals were put on this planet for our use, we were put on this planet to care for them, not to abuse them.

I eat all types of meat, my family hunts and I’ve fished all my life – I know where meat comes from and I think people eating meat and then complaining about hunters/farmers/fishers are hypocrites. That said, food can be more or less visually appealing and I just happen to dislike the look of boiled, white, eyes.

So to answer your question, it doesn’t offend me at all – but I personally prefer when the meat is presented in a different way.

I’m never offended by food, period or food’s faces for that matter. But I’m African & it’s normal to slaughter your animals/birds in your home & enjoy.  I don’t understand ppl who want happy cows etc. To me it’s food if it’s edible & pig is certainly one of the most edible animals. We usually roast whole sheep but I’d love to try a pig roast. This comes from a person who has eaten the delicacies including crocodiles etc.

GreenBayBee:  lol, yeah, if you don’t warn people you’d get in trouble for that, so it’s tricky.

GreenBayBee:  I eat meat but am kinda offended too. It’s not something I’d wanna walk up to and get a slice of. There’s bliss in ignorance…A.K.A – when your food doesn’t look like the thing it was hacked off of.

I am a meat eater. It doesn’t “offend” me, but it grosses me out. I just don’t like dead things with faces. A slice of bacon on my plate doesn’t weird me out. A full on dead pig on a table does. FI’s cousin had this at her wedding and it freaked me out so much I couldn’t go into the room where it was plated. Now… I wasn’t judging her choice (it’s meat all the same), I just think it’s freaky looking haha!
