@nativedesires:  My friends and I “accidently” crossed paths with Cal Ripken and the members of a big 90s band. I can’t quite remember their name. One of the members tried to feel up my friend’s boob. Not cool.

ETA: It was Third Eye Blind.

I didn’t meet her but I saw Halle Berry and her daughter at a restaurant when I was having lunch with my aunt.  But my older sister met Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson.

I met Chuck Comeau, the drummer for the band Simple Plan back in 2005 when they came to Australia! He was really friendly.

@nativedesires:  Jealous! I love Jodi Picoult Smile

I met Bam Margera when I was about 14, and got a signed poster and a hug from him Smile He was so chilled and down to earth. I’ve also met the members of Underoath and also got a few photos and their autographs. And I’ve met a few of the New Zealand All Blacks, and a few other bands, but they were mostly underground New Zealand bands. I’ve also met a few New Zealand Celebrities from Shortland Street or other shows and a few comedians. My step cousin Shaun Johnson is also in the NZ Warriors.

When I was 13-15 I was OBSESSED with Good Charlotte and wanted to marry Benji Madden. My best friend and I were such huge fans of theirs; we covered our rooms with their posters, bought all of their albums and dvds, and would buy a magazine just for a tiny photo of them. When they came to New Zealand for a show we took the day off of school and waited at the Auckland Town Hall from about 10 in the morning until the show started at about 8:30pm.

After the show my friend, a few other fans (maybe about 3 or 4) and myself went to the garage at the back of the venue to see if we could get autographs or meet them. Benji and Joel Madden came out of the garage in their limo and we were all waving at them and smiling at them, and they didn’t even bother to smile back or give a bit of a wave. Such major DOUCHEBAGS. My friend and I were so sad and left. The next day at school my other friend told me that just after we left the rest of the band, Billy, Paul and Chris came out of the garage and got out of the van (yup, the brothers were too cool for a van) to give their fans hugs and to pose for photos and sign posters/cds/etc.

I hate when celebrities let the fame go to their heads. They’re just human like we are.

I used to go to ALOT of concerts in my day. My friends and I were really into emo/indie/pop punk bands. We would never miss a concert. I would say I have met a lot of famous band members but not people who would be considered “celebrities”. A few years later we started really getting into techno/dance music and met a few djs. I have photos with all of them. Some of the better known ones: Sum 41, Benji from Good Charolette, My Chemical Romance, Panic at the Disco, Jimmy Eat World, New Found Glory, Pete and Patrick from Fall Out Boy, Something Corporate, Anberlin, Diplo, Justice, and a lot of smaller bands. It doesn’t really seem that special now that I’m older but when I was younger, it was such a big deal!

I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone who was a celebrity or actor/actress.

Yes.  Worked with some less famous people too (some I met some I didn’t).  The most famous is probably Nicolas Sarkozy, I stood about 6 foot from him but didn’t say anything (surrounded by security) or Brian May (my friend said hi, I spoke to his wife).  Properly met Tim Minchin, some comedians on the UK circuit you possibly don’t know (sat next to Jimmy Carr, and had Simon Amstell interrupt a conversation I was having with someone else) and some West End actors.

Mine are all British celebrities – I’ve never met an ‘A-Lister’ or anything.

I met Cliff Richard at Virgin Megastore in Times Square. No one else knew who he was, and I went up to him and asked if he would have a photo taken with my teddy bear, who was taking in all the sights of NY. He did! Everyone at home went crazy when they saw it.

Kathy Burke and Dawn French were in a play that was on at the theatre I worked in. I saw Dawn French in her dressing room, and Kathy Burke bought an ice-cream off me and let me keep the change, haha.

@ladyartichoke:  oooh oooh which comedians?? i loooove Tim Minchin!
