My neighbor back home was Josh Holloway (Sawyer) from Lost.  We saw him all the time working on his boat.  My sisters and I used to sit out on our patio all day during summer and wave to him 🙂  He reguarly had parties with the cast and I remember  hearing them talking and picking people out.  I’ve ran into Jorge Garcia (Hurley) and Terry O’Quinn (John Locke) walking my dogs around the neighborhood and Naveen Andrews (Sayid) at both Costco and the mall.  I’ve also spoke with Michael Emerson (Ben) after the Honolulu symphony performed.

Lots of Lost people which is funny because I HATE Lost.  I watched the first season and decided it was not for me.  My sister is a big Lost fan though.

We also stumbled onto the set before they even started filming.  We have pictures of us sitting in the plane and holding up pieces the rubble from the pilot episode.  We seriously thought a plane had actually crashed on the beach since it was in the middle of nowhere and we were the only people.  It was pretty cool!  Then a few months later we saw the trailer!

I met Elie Wiesel in college, since one of my professors was a close personal friend of his, and we went up to Manhattan to meet him and discuss his work.  He is one of the most genuine and delightful people I have ever met, and he has a presence that really fills a room.

A few weeks ago, I met Daniil Simkin, a star ballet dancer, at the Kennedy Center after a performance of Le Corsaire.  I got a picture and an autograph, and he was also incredibly delightful and charming.  There were a ton of people pressing in to meet him, and he was so calm and happy to meet his fans and talk to them.  It was a special moment.  (It was also the weekend Fiance and I got engaged, so doubly special!)

I don’t think I’ve met anyone else notable?  A lot of authors people don’t really know — Seanan McGuire (sometimes aka Mira Grant), if anyone reads urban fantasy.  I had Thanksgiving dinner at her house a few years ago.  We played Munchkin after dinner, and she’s a blast.
