Ok, pretend you’re a tall, slender 18 year old girl with a rockin’ mohawk and you attend an art school and it’s time for senior pictures. You need an amazing dress on a VERY limited budget (less than $100 preferably!) to take photos in an ancient forest with snow all around with a big sword. What dress do you choose? (we are struggling with key words lol) If you are creative, good at internetting, or just bored please venture out into the depths of the internet and help us find a dress! Any and all photos, links, advice welcome!

I think something like this would look really good in a snowy forest. (Lulu’s & Etsy)
Or if you really want to embrace the forest vibe..

I live and die for Modcloth dresses. Not sure if they’ll have exactly what you’re looking for as they tend to have a more vintage vibe but it’s worth a look.

desertgypsy : I think a velvet dress would look amazing in a winter photo with snow, forest and a sword.
Check out the store ‘rosetic’ for some ideas your daughter might like. They kind of do more goth stuff but some of their stuff might work in this scenario.
They also have a fairly artistic Instagram page which could give you some ideas for the photos.

desertgypsy : OMG, I have so many questions:
What kind of forest? Magical redwood forest ? Romantic evergreen forest with rocks?? Stark deciduous forest with an architectural look?
What time for photos? Mid-day sunlight? Golden hour? Dusk?
What color hair/eyes?
What is her favorite color or colors she prefers to wear?

Ever-pretty is my go-to for bangin’ dresses under $100. Here are a few somewhat alternative ones I’ve found, but they’ve got all flavors of dresses so I’d definitely suggest browsing their site yourself:
I realize sequins are a hit or miss sorta thing, and might not really fit “enchanted dark forest”, but I thought these were pretty stunning and more edgey…but now for something more classic:
Not sure if there’s a strict dress code, but if you liked the velvet idea:
In other places, I’ve found this through a Google search, at “RetroStage” for $40. I’ve never bought from them but at the very least it’s some inspo…? Get those forest vibes:

I like this idea – but with some leggings maybe?

With the sword in mind, I’d aim for something more medieval, with the cool flowy sleeves that have slits for other colors to peek through. Or something gothic but a bit colorful. And with a modern twist… you’re not describing some peasant girl! I found this one but it looks runway, so I don’t know if anything similar could be purchased. I hate doing searches on my phone.

Miss-Mauverick : Hah! We have a few options to choose from. One of our options is big Ponderosa pine forest with towering red rocks in the background. Or stark Aspen forest with bare limbs and deep snow. Probably Golden Hour light for ponderosa, a little darker for aspens
She has dark brown eyes, almost black and dark brown hair . She loves deep purple, rich tones
These have all been so amazing! I appreciate this soooo much!
