My favourite spot in our house is the bathroom I love lying in our soaker tub and just having a relaxing hot bath

We just got a new bed.  It’s like the matress equivalent of a Rolls Royce and, recently, it’s been my favorite place of the house.  I mostly love it when Fiance isn’t home  because I can spraul out and just watch the Science Channel with the pup and not worry about his awful snoring.

we just bought our house a little over a month ago and I would say my favorite spot is our living room. I also LOVE our backyard (we have over a half acre, we built a fence as soon as we moved in) and could sit on our patio for hours with my Fiance, son and dog!

We have a library – big comfy couch, soft blankets, lots of bookshelves, warm lighting.

We decided we didn’t need two guest rooms, so we turne the 3rd bedroom into the library.  Now that we are TTC, I’m a little sad that the library will go away to be a nursery!

Our dining room.  It’s open to the kitchen and living room.  It gets light from large sliding door out to the deck and from the wide, nearly floor to ceiliing window in the living room and from the east facing window in the kitchen.  I LOVE the light in there, how it looks with our wall color and I like our furniture/decor in there too.  I love keeping the glass door open and hearing the birds singing in the trees in back.  I like my kitchen a lot for the same reasons.  And I just like cooking and eating and entertaining.

The thing I like most about our house in general is the light we get.  It’s a smallish bungalow that’s really not special otherwise.  Great light in all the main living areas.

I live in an old English cottage with relatively modern extensions. So we have a long living room which used to be the two downstairs rooms and in the second half of the living room we have a fire and an exposed brick chimney. We bought a huge, comfy corner sofa which faces the TV and fireplace. I have a huge, cosy throw and I sit in the corner, surrounded by cushions and my throw. This is my favourite place because it’s so cosy and snug.

Second would be my huge bathtub which I can lie down in and wriggle around in but has a seat on the side which I use to put my wine on. Third would be our big, comfy bed. Fourth would be the separate shower cubicle, which is huge and spacious. I imagine when we get the garden done, outside will come in at fifth but that’s a way off yet.

We just got a brand new townhouse w/ HOA and I love it! My favorite part is the grand entryway..it’s very wide and long and when you walk in you can see straight through to my back sliders!

We’re in the midst of renovations (almost done!!) so my favourite has changed over the years.

Prior to renos – My favourite place was our deck. It spans the entire length of our house and has some really nice views (we’re on a hill overlooking a valley – there’s houses but so many trees that you can hardly see them). I find it a very relaxing place to sit with a cuppa and a good book or even to entertain friends.

After renos – Our lounge room is fast becoming my favourite room in the house, and the renos aren’t even finished yet! We’ve just had new hardwood timber floors laid (being stained as we speak) and the difference it has made to the space is startling – so much brighter and airier. We’ve also had a staircase added in this space, which I was worried would make it feel small, but it actually hasn’t made much of a difference at all. I love the balustrade we’ve chosen and that the stairs/floors are the same hardwood.

Moving forward, I think our master suite will probably be my favourite space in the house once it’s completed. Currently, we’ve only gotten as far as removing the ugly tiny built in wardrobe and painting – which has made the room feel soo much bigger. Carpet is being laid in a few weeks. Our walk in wardrobe and ensuite addition are basically at the framing stage at the moment (we’ve been held up by our plumber), but simply having these spaces will be amazing.

sarathemermaid :  My husband would say it’s the middle of the couch in our living room… I’m constantly here, on my computer, pumping milk, whatever.  I’m there right now.  But it’s just where I feel stuck, usually.  Plus it’s comfy.  If I had to pick inside the house, my favorite spot is the weird little sunroom in the middle of winter.  It’s so glorious to go in there and cook in the sunshine with plants hanging around me.  When we got the windows replaced on the house, we refused to let them put the UV ones in there.

Otherwise the back deck is also nice for staring out at cliffs and, right now, flowering apple trees.  And, yet again, basking in the sunshine.

sarathemermaid :  We purchased our home last year and did a fairly extensive renovation. I got to design a kitchen to my specification and I love to cook so I always thought that would be my favorite space but actually our open plan lounge room dining area is my favourite space. It has seven floor to ceiling windows that are 2 meters wide at minimum and one is a bay window. The light is incredible in that area as a result. I love waking up and sitting there having my coffee in the morning. It just feels so cozy and warm. It was freaking scarily expensive to put in the window dressings but it was worth having so many windows! Its like a free Snapchat filter for anyone sitting in there during the day. You can be wearing no make up with bad bed hair and in that room because of the light you look instantly amazing!!

This is supposed to be our next ten years house but I’m already feeling sad about the prospect of moving in ten years. 😢

sarathemermaid :  I have 2 favorite spots:

1. The baautiful natural light in our family room (my plants love that southwest corner!)

2. The amazing view from the private deck off our master bedroom.

Honorable mentions: kitchen (with a huge island and built-in seating and a large south-facing window), master bedroom (our new matress is heavenly and the duvet cover I bought on a whim a few months ago really brings the room together, hubby likes it too), and our office (its on the small side but still such a lovely luxury).
