My good friend and bridesmaid is having shoulder surgery next week, and I want to put together a little package for her. We only live about an hour away but I won’t be able to see her until July, so I want her to know I’m thinking of her.
She’ll be in a sling for about a month and won’t be able to use her arm at all. What are some things I can include in a package for her? I was thinking some magazines since she’ll probably be laying around for a couple of days. Other than that…no ideas.

May sound silly but depending on what she likes to eat maybe something easy to snack on or prepare that she can open/make with one hand? Or a cute but comfy shirt to wear with the sling?

My sister had shoulder surgery a while back. She had to wear strapless bras & those little cami type tank tops- she couldn’t get straps over her arm or her arm into any t-shirt sleeves. I brought her some snacks (and maybe a casserole? I don’t remember) since she wouldn’t be doing much cooking with only one arm. If you have to mail something I’d send nonperishable snacks like cookies, trail mix, granola, crackers, sweets- stuff that will ship well and can be eaten with little to no preperation.

I had a friend who had to have a leg amputated. I gave her a big Barnes & Noble giftcard because I knew she was going to be stuck at home for a while. She looked really appreciative.
