@Shylis: Yaaay me too! It’s very exciting after many months of RCIA meetings, researching, reading etc etc. Big congrats to you! Is it Holy Saturday you’re being Baptised? Take it you’ll also be Confirmed and receive first Holy Communion aswell?

I’m very nervous I won’t know what to do during all of this, wish we’d had a rehersal lol Still, can’t wait despite the huge amount of negativity I’ve recieved off many people that I tell! Are you finding that at all?

Ah best of luck for Saturday then, I’m loving all the build up during Lent. Palm Sunday got me so excited for Holy Saturday. Then Mass on Sunday I will walk into the church a fully fledged Catholic- that really excites me!

Glad you’ve had positive experiences when telling others. My family and close friends have been super supportive but so many less close friends or aquaintances (some lapsed Catholics themselves, atheists or from other Christian denominations) have been so rude and negative about it all. I really feel like the UK hates Catholics, it’s pretty sad!

Have a great day Saturday and Happy (nearly!) Easter!

Congratulations! My fiance is becoming Catholic on Saturday, too, and I’m so excited for him! Is anybody planning on celebrating their conversion in a special way? We’re thinking about going out for a late dessert afterward or something.

@babylou: I think it’s absolutely worth celebrating so don’t blame you! We’re going to pop out for a few celebratory drinks with our priest and the rest of my RCIA group. After all our priest isn’t impartial to a Guiness or two Wink lol

We are having dinner before going over to the mass and we are also going out for a late dessert afterwards. We will probably just go to Marie Callenders and have some pie and a coffee or hot chocolate.
