Hey hive! (Let me apologize for the huge pictures now… SO sorry!)
I’ve always had long hair. The shortest cuts I’ve had were a little bit below my shoulders. Normally (and now) it’s midway down my back, past my bra line. I love my hair, my Darling Husband loves my hair, etc… But I just feel like I’m ready for a change.
Right now, my bangs are a bit grown out – about chin length. I’m considering getting my hair cut to just above my shoulders, with my angled side swept bangs back.
Here is a general picture of how I look (a wedding picture, YAY! π haha)… But just so you have an idea of how I look now , straight on…

So here is a picture of my current hair – This is acutally from our engagement shoot in July, but it’s about this long again (But my bangs are longer now than they were there).

And here’s a picture of the hair cut I’m considering (obviously not in brown though!)

This is the shortest I’ve had it before (About 4 years ago)… I’m going for similar bangs, but shorter hair with lots more layers

So… Thoughts?? Is this a safe route to go? Help! π

I think that length will look great on you. It’s not too short. Plus, if you hate it that length, it’ll grow back. I say go for it!

I agree. I think you’d rock it. Worst case, it’ll grow back!

Haha, I just posted this exact thread (well similar) a few minutes ago :). I like the b&w photo haircut… I may steal it for my haircut today! π
Hair will always grow back! It might be fun to do a big change & see if you like it.

Thank you ladies for the feedback! I have to wait until May to do it… I’m student teaching and I don’t want to have to “learn” how to do my hair every day while student teaching… But that’s only a couple months away! In the meantime, I will day dream… I think I will do it though!! π Thank you thank you!!
@msgraphics: Yours looks great!!
@canthugallcats: I’ve been stalking that girl’s blog (thesmallthingsblog.com) since December! She kind of inspired my haircut plans π You should definitely use the picture!!

I think it will look great on you, I recently cut almost 10″ of my hair and colored it a deep brown red color (its faded now, but I still love it).
Sometimes you have to take chances to find out what you like or what will look good on you π
but yes, I do think it will look good on you

@PoeticDoveInLA: Thanks! I just am no good at taking chances haha… But like my Darling Husband said… You’ll never know until you try… He really encouraged me to do it – Which was good because one of my main concerns was that he wouldn’t like it π

So I went to the haircut place with your photo in mind, but my phone wouldn’t work so I looked thru the magazines & went with something completely different (added bangs!):
I’m posting because we have a similar “before” look & face shape:

I just realized that I said obviously not in brown… I meant obviously IN brown haha… I like my natural color and plan to keep it this way π
@canthugallcats: Looks good! Are you happy with the last minute change?? π

@Jenlon: Ha I couldn’t figure out why you said “not in brown”… thanks for clarifying! & yes I am, it feels VERY good to finally have done this, thank you :). My hair has been kinda the same for years & years until now. Darling Husband came home & loved it so I think it was a good choice.

I’d suggest cutting it to just below the shoulders. See how you like it. Then cut more if that’s what you want.
