So I just found out I get to spend the holidays with my family! I sent a text to my mom, dad and my brother so they’d all find out at the same time. Here’s how it went down:
Me: Santa’s bringing xmas early this year….He’s bringing good cheer and Veryberry13 and Mr. Veryberry13 to spend the holidays with you!!
Brother: What? Am I about to be an uncle?!?
Me: Um, no.
Brother: Wait, you’re engaged?
Me: No…just to clarify, we are coming to spend the 24th and 25th with you.
Mom: Yay! I’m doing a happy dance!
Dad: OM EFFING GEE. You’re pregnant?!?
Me: Good cheer is NOT a baby it was supposed to be a cute way to announce that we will be spending the holidays with you. *Face palm*
Anyone else confuse the HECK out of their family and friends trying to be cute in a text?!?

@veryberry13: I’m sure every post wedding announcement is going to be predicated by “when’s the baby due?”

@veryberry13: Have you been dating your SO for a while? After five years of dating any “good news” we had to share was automatically assumed to be an engagement. 😛

Since we’ve been married, literally any time we visit/call Father-In-Law, he thinks we’re trying to announce a pregnancy. We told him that we finally got around to cleaning out our second bedroom, and his immediate reaction was, “Like, for a bassinet?” Yes, dad, for a baby. That’s how we’re going to announce our pregnancy–we finally cleaned our spare room, we’re pregnant.

Sometimes stuff like this happens to me. More so just between Fiance and I because we text/Skype/IM a lot during the week. We’re fine in person, like I know if I said it to his face he would get it! But when I message it, he gets so confused and just makes me *facepalm* over and over again sometimes! LOL

@AB Bride: They are
@beachbride1216: Families are funny like that!
@Treejewel19: It’s been 3+ years at this point. It’s okay to speculate, but it’s funny they think I could announce such huge news via text!
@vorpalette: HAHA this made me LOL!!!

@veryberry13: Parents and texting makes for lots of good stories. I’m still trying to figure out where they got a pregnancy out of your text though! lol

@veryberry13: I have no idea how they tought you were pregnant lol!

@vorpalette: I announced to someone at work by saying “Baby wants a burrito”. He was offended that that was my way of “announcing”. I just told him I am even more awkward when I am forced to actually have the “Uhmmm… so I’m pregnant…” conversation.

lol when we got engaged I called my parents and asked them to come on skype because I had some good news.
My parents’ excited faces pop up on skype moments later, and my mom goes “Idunn, are you pregnant??”
“Are you sure? I’ve just had this feeling for weeks!”
Lol, bless them. I think the whole engagement-thing was a bit of a let-down after that.

I had to reassure my dad that I would NOT tell him over the phone that we were pregnant! (Someday we arent even TTC for two years!) That way every time I call him with “Guess what?” He doesnt have a heart attack hahaha. I did the same thing with my mom…
