I have a small rubbermaid set of drawers on my counter in my bathroom.  One drawer for hair stuff (bun maker, bobby pins, hair ties, etc.), one for concealers, foundations, powders, and one for eye make up, and primers that don’t fit in the other drawers.  I really like it, I can easily search for what I want in each drawer.  My brushes are in a glass jar on the other side of my sink, so I can easily grab the ones I need.

I have a “vanity desk” where I sit in the morning to do my makeup. It has a long drawer where I keep my eye shadow palettes/ larger makeup items. Then I have two clear organizers and my lighted mirror on the top- one has drawers on the bottom and lipstick slots on top. The other is drawers and different bins on top. Similar to this:

When I go away I use a makeup bag and I can’t stand digging to the bottom to find something I need. I, too, end up just dumping everything on the counter and then I put it back in the bag as I use it. Drives me crazy!

I also have a mountain of makeup! It’s a bit of a problem, and it’s always overflowing. I keep it all organised in/on my dressing table in my bedroom. I have two large drawers, one for face stuff like foundations, primers, powders, blushers, correctors, concealers etc, and another for eyeshadow palettes and single shadows, gel eyeliners, mascaras etc. I have two smaller drawers, one for lipsticks and one for moisturisers and other necessities. I have a huge pot with all my brushes and sponges etc, and another smaller one with all my lip pencils and pencil eyeliners etc. I also fit things like a makeup mirror, cotton wool, isopropyl alcohol, cleanser and hairbands on top. The excess makeup (mostly lipsticks) is stored in a large drawer in the dressing table in my guest bedroom which isn’t ideal. I love the set up of my bedroom dressing table though. The drawers are big but shallow so it’s easy to see everything I have.

ETA: Don’t store makeup in the bathroom. It needs to be kept somewhere cool and dry. And especially don’t store it in the bathroom if you have hot showers. Makeup goes bad, and it will age faster in a warm, wet environment.

The only time I use a bag is for travel (and it’s only the essentials).  I have a couple of these acrylic organizers for my most used items.  http://www.containerstore.com/s/bath/makeup-organizers/large-acrylic-makeup-organizer/12d?productId=10009895   I use small plastic boxes for storing the rest in the linen closet organized by product.

I have a ton of make-up, so I just rotate products out periodically rather than try to keep them all in the same bag (like I’ll keep one neutral, one cool, and one warm toned blush out or one light, medium, and darker lipstick in the carrier and put the rest in an organizer in the closet.

I will say that buying eyeshadow singles without packaging (like Make-up Geek, MAC, Anastasia) and putting them into my own magnetized Z-palette (or you could de-pot your current ones) is a huge spacesaver.  I rarely buy eyeshadow singles in packaging (or duos or quads) unless it is MUST HAVE.  Otherwise, I stick to brands I can put in my own palette.

So, slightly embarrassing, but I still use the caboodle I’ve had since I was 13.

I have a small 5 drawer stand I keep in the bathroom cabinet because there’s not enough counter space. I got it in the office section, it’s really more for a desk organizer than makeup. The top drawer is for lipsticks/chapsticks, next drawer for eye liner/mascara/eyebrow pencils, two middle drawers for eye shadow, bottom drawer for concealer/bronzer/highlighter.

I keep my makeup brushes in two containers that match the soap dish and toothbrush holder. I think they’re actually for holding q tips?

I wish though I had a set up with a vanity mirror and more room to spread stuff out. Keeping makeup in the bathroom builds up too much moisture and then I always have to wait for the mirror to unfog after I shower.

herrera2016 :  I have baskets in my closet full and a wicker basket with a lid for the countertop. But really, everything is just spread all over my countertop. I’m not proud and it’s a disaster.

herrera2016 :  I have a drawer under the bathroom sink counter and have my makeup compartmentalised there, I save the pretty boxes when I buy Lauderee macaroons and then keep makeup and nail polish in those boxes. I also have two older makeup bags in the back of the drawer stuffed with lesser used makeup such as lipsticks in colours I’m tired of right now and extra compacts. Towards the front of the drawer is my nice makeup bag I use when travelling, it contains all my favourite daily makeup including different favourite lipsticks  (probably around 10-ish products total), and there’s also a space in the drawer for loose items like eyelash curlers/hair clips/brushes/other products. I don’t carry around a makeup bag normally, I just grab a powder compact, concealer and lipstick and put somewhere in whatever handbag I use that day.

Here is my little drawer:

Makeup has taken over my dresser and it’s a problem.  I am working on it currently.

I just got this for my brushes: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CMJZLXM/ref=sr_ph_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1484593951&sr=sr-1&keywords=alegory+brush

I think I may store away most of my eye makeup and brushes as I don’t wear eyeshadow very often – just some tightliner and mascara.  Then I’m going to buy something similar to the acrylic organizers above to store the rest of my makeup on top of the my dresser.

I have some things neatly organized into different plastic containers, mostly stuff that I don’t use on a daily basis (setting powder, bronzer, crazy eye makeup colors). Most of my makeup I keep in this awesome zombie-themed toolbox my dad got me. I’m pretty sure he didn’t intend for me to store makeup in it but it works perfectly for me and fits in with my weird decor!

I subscribe to Ipsy so I keep all of the bags and organize products accordingly. I have an entire tub of bags! I like to keeo track of my stuff so I know everything that’s in every bag. I don’t keep products I don’t use, either so I don’t get too clustered.
