Say someone is listed as an authorized user on someone elses credit card. Lets use FH and I as an example. FH is an authorized user on my cc. If I went bankrupt would that affect his credit as well? A friend of mine is in a real crappy situation identical to this and I’m trying to help out. Its affecting this persons credit positively right now because the cards that theyre on are high limits with low balances, but if “I” went bankrupt it would still look negative on “FH” right?

Call one of the credit reporting agencies i.e. Equifax and see what they say. It’s been years since I worked in that field, so the laws have changed, plus I am uncertain the differences depending on the country. (I’m not American)

Fiance has me as an authorized user on one of his credit cards, and it does show up on my credit report. It raised my credit score. I would assume that if it can effect a score positively, it could also effect it negatively.

Try this link too – and perhaps look it up by your state law in google.
