Okay, so I have like zero money. I am completely broke. I couldn’t even afford to get my Save-The-Date Cards this month, and they’re free! All I have to do is pay $8 shipping and I can’t afford to spare it after all of my bills are paid.
So, I just logged in to check my bank statement because I wanted to check the balance and then pay my remaining two bills for the month. Much to my surprise, I see that my last transaction was a $4.99 charge to Xbox live!? WHAT THE FUCK?! I do not, nor have I ever owned an Xbox. But, let me tell you who does: My entitled brat of a little brother!
I am so sick of my family shitting on me, I can’t take it anymore!
Sometime around February or March, when I was still living at home, my brother came into my room and said that if I let him purchase a map for Call of Duty (for $19.99) my mom would reimburse me. He told me he’d just called her to ask. I asked him if he was lying and he said no, that he’d called my mom and she told him she would. So, I completed the transaction on his Xbox live with my debit card. When my mom got home, she told me that she had no intention of paying me back. Not only did she not pay me back, but she thought it was funny that my brother duped me into paying $20 for his video game map. I was disgusted. He didn’t receive any type of punishment. It was like he had stolen the money from me, at least that’s how I felt, because he lied to my face about me getting my money back.
So, I’m assuming that my debit card information ended up getting saved to my brother’s Xbox live account. Then, last night, he must’ve seen something he wanted on his game, and charged it to my debit card without calling to ask. This has not happened since I bought him that map thing, and I really hope it’s not a recurring charge.
I am literally in tears right now. Five dollars isn’t much of a big deal. I can still pay my bills and I’ll have about $30 left over until next week. Whatever. It is the action that is making me so mad. You cannot raise a child to think it is okay to charge someone else’s debit card whenever they see fit, without asking permission. How did he know I didn’t need that money? There have been times where I’ve depended on my last five dollars. Nothing will be done about this. I can 100% guarantee my life that my mother will do nothing to amend this situation. She will not pay me back the $5, she will not make my brother pay me back. She will not take his game away, even though he failed his grade last year, nothing. Instead, she will try to guilt trip me. “Oh, you didn’t get him anything for his birthday, though!” Last month, she and my brother were harrassing me to pay for him to go to the Warped Tour. I was broke then, too. Just because I didnt’ get him anything for his birthday does not give him the right to STEAL from me!
