With WEN, it’s a cleansing conditioner. It has the texture/thickness of a conditioner. It does not contain sodium laurel sulfate or anything harsh therefore does not lather like a traditional shampoo. For more info, go to http://www.wenhaircare.com or http://www.chazdean.com.

I swear by Aveda products! I wonder if a combo of the dry remedy and smooth infusion products would help you. I alternate use of the smooth infusion shampoo with another one, and every time I use it, it makes my hair so smooth and glossy.

by the way, I would always switch shampoos every couple months because I never liked my shampoo or the way it made my hair feel. I was never happy and couldn’t find anything I liked long enough. I started using WEN in the spring of 2009 and am STILL using and loving it! Also, just as a f.y.i., every couple weeks/months I’ll wash with a traditional shampoo if needed. Sometimes my hair gets a bit too oily and is easily treated with one traditional washing.

I’m a huge fan of Biolage. I don’t do a lot of heat styling though so I don’t know how that would work for you. I am using Fortetherapie. I have use Hydratherapie before. I do not recommend Nexxus or the new Pantene. I was trying to find something cheaper but both of those were horribly drying!

I’ve been using Tresemme also, but the “anti-breakage” formula. I have been pleasantly surprised. My hair seems stronger and is VERY soft and shiny.
Biolage is great, my hairdresser suggested the rejuvatherapie for my hair which is dry and prone to breaking!

@MissMargie: Thanks for asking this question! I was actually thinking about asking for shampoo/conditioner recommendations from the hive earlier today, but I hadn’t gotten around to it yet. I may have to try one of these…

I also love WEN! It is wonderful.

i will 3rd WEN!
my hair is exactly like yours and WEN saved it big time
there is a knock off at Sally’s Beauty Supply called “The Hair One”, it’s waaaaay cheaper.

Thanks for sharing that! I am going to have to try it…WEN gets expensive.

I WISH Tresemme would work for me because Fiance uses it (his grandma buys him bottles in bulk because I guess its her fave too!) but it really dries my hair out….my hair is sooo annoyingly dry!
Glad I could help 🙂
Oh and I’m adding WEN to the list too, maybe I should just ask for hair products for xmas? 😉

MissMargie I like Giovanni because I can easily find it anywhere. I like the “Smooth as Silk Shampoo” and the Smooth as Silk Xtreme or Nutrifix (10 minute conditioner) -it really works for my long dry hair.
I want to try WEN now. It is so pricey :/ Does it really work?

I use the WEN knock off — Hair One and it works great!

Moroccan Oil – makes your healthy silky and smells so good!

I use ArTec Kiwi Shampoo and Conditioner. I got hooked on it when I bought some from the JC Penney salon (I used to work there) and it is amazing!
I have longish dry hair, that I blowdry and straighten almost daily. This makes my hair feel like silk, and it smells really good 🙂

I’ve been teetering back and forth with WEN on whether or not I should buy it. I just learned from them that they don’t test on animals and there are no animal ingredients, so I think I’m going to try it. I hope I like it as much as you.
